Ankle boots - more colour than style this time round....

I'm thinking of getting some ankle boots this winter - something i wouldn't normally contrmplate because I'm a short pear shape with large cankles so they're not really great for my figure - however seeing as knee highs (my fail safe "go to" shoe) are out of favour this year I thought I'd buy 1 pair and give them a go.

Now my question is what colour would best compiment my wardrobe.

I'm a summer colour wise and my wardrobe is made up of lots of neutrals, browns, navy etc. I've decided my colours this winter will be aubergine, navy blue, blush pink etc

So I'm wondering what colour boots will suit this best as I've seen these but I'm wondering if they are too grey?!?! i have problems matching grey with colours. I currently have tan knee highs which go with most things but not everything. I'm wondering if tan is the safest bet?!?!

Also i quite fancy the lace up ones like this are they a bit no no in the fashion world?

Knee highs are a classic - wear them with pride. No need to hide them.

Am a Summer too. After black, I get the most wear out of navy footwear.
Gray would work too and the shape of the boots is really pretty - pair them with gray tights (same color= leg lenghtening effect) and they'll be fine with your winter colors.

Oh and sorry, the lace-ups do not look as stylish as the other pair.

hmmmm I don't "do" coloured tights as such as they tend to draw attention to my worst areas. plus I try and keep it very dark on my bottom half again to draw the eye upwards.
