Be totally honest, is it too garish for workwear?? I generally wear black western clothes. However currently dh appears to think my combat pants are far too come hither

So I'm looking for summer workwear, (as dp is paying ignore the price).

I need something cool, so not looking forward to tube travel during summer...but anyway what do you think???

cod · 19/03/2006 14:09

are you indian?

cod · 19/03/2006 14:09

think dh need to keep hi opinion to himself

Pinotmum · 19/03/2006 14:14

What do you work as? It is quite elaborate and would attract more looks that combat pants I would think from a westerners point of view.

WideWebWitch · 19/03/2006 14:17

depends on what uou do, what you normally wear, what's considered appropriate where you work etc. Agree it would get more attention than combats.

fuzzywuzzy · 19/03/2006 14:22

I'm an accountant and yes indian, and yes I thought this would be a lot more come hither and dp could go shove his opinion.....

But thought I may as well get a new wardrobe out of it.

I work in a university, so the dress code is relaxed....

So no, too ott??

OP posts:
Tinker · 19/03/2006 14:23

I like it. I presume you wouldn't be standing in that pose all day with that expression?

fuzzywuzzy · 19/03/2006 14:24

no Tinker I'd stop for toilet breaks....Grin

OP posts:
Carmenere · 19/03/2006 14:24

I like it too

rummum · 19/03/2006 14:28

I like the colour but it is quite dressy...

I prefere the Gray and burnt orange crepe georgette print set (7207B)

Pinotmum · 19/03/2006 14:34

I think it's too nice (dressy) for work but then I'm a scruff Smile

fuzzywuzzy · 19/03/2006 14:40

hmmmm may just buy it then

Rumum the grey one is nice but I don't really like the trousers.

mousiemousie · 20/03/2006 12:56

Looks more like occaision wear to me but I would say if you like it and it's comfortable then go on and wear it! I am always trying to blur the rules where I work...I am an accountant too and I definitely don't wear suits!

NomDePlume · 20/03/2006 12:58

Very bold, colour-wise. Not a colour combo I'd wear for work, but I like the style.

CarolinaMoon · 20/03/2006 13:04

I think that colour looks fab with Indian colouring.

I would end up getting the scarf bit caught in the tube doors if I wore it, but it would be v cool and floaty.

CarolinaMoon · 20/03/2006 13:19

we noticed cod, cos you pointed it out to us already Smile.

obv agree about not taking your dh's instructions on what to wear, but I thought Mr Fuzzy had just expressed an opinion which is fair enough, even if you don't like the nature of the opinion in itself.

milward · 20/03/2006 13:20

www.eshakti.com/uk/clothsrpage.asp?catalog=Clothes&cate=Wash+N+Wear+-+Black+White+and+More&pagecount=1&from=TS - for black clothes.

Thanks for the www site info as well - some lovely things.

lucy5 · 20/03/2006 13:21

I love the style. Bit bright for me but im the woman in black.

NomDePlume · 20/03/2006 13:22

\link{http://www.eshakti.com/uk/clothpdpage.asp?catalog=Clothes&cate=Wash+N+Wear+Trendsetters&productid=CL0008340\Maybe something a little more conservative like this would be better to start with ?}

FWIW, I think combat trousers are the most unsexy item of clothing around !

NomDePlume · 20/03/2006 13:23

The colours on that site are amazing !

Nightynight · 20/03/2006 13:59

I love shalwar kameez type outfits. Id wear the top, with jeans or plain, officey sort of trousers.
I have several cotton tunics (not quite as gauzy as that one) that I wear in the office.

PeachyClair · 20/03/2006 14:02

If you want to 'come hither' try this seating- ahem- arrangement
\link{http://www.eshakti.com/uk/clothpdpage.asp?catalog=Clothes&cate=Wash+N+Wear+Trendsetters&productid=CL0008345\ on that dress site}

Love the clothes, truly beautiful.
