It's my birthday on Wednesday and my dp is treating me to new clothes, about £200 worth, plus I have another £60 from my mum and grandad Grin

We're heading to Trafford centre and I've got a feeling ill get there and be so overwhelmed I won't be able to find a single thing.

Just for a bit of background, i have a new baby of 8 weeks, so I'm very self conscious of how I look atm. I'm a 14/16 bottom and 38dd chest with a pretty small waist,so classic hour glass I'd say.

I struggle with skinny jeans as I can't get my calfs to squeeze in,but straight cut are fine usually.

I love the lace back cardys in top shop atm, so ill maybe start there.

So really Im looking for practical but without making me feel totally frumpy!!

Please help!!

Hi, I would suggest you buy the cardigan you linked to if you like it on but then wait as your body at 8 weeks post baby is not going to be the same in 3 or 6 months time and it would be a shame to spend so much and then not be able to wear it all. But if you are in topshop it is worth trying on their Baxter jeans as they are more of a straight cut than skinny and very flattering. good luck and come back and report your purchases!

I say buy footwear immediately as a treat! Then clothes later on as your body settles. Or maybe a really nice watch?

Thanks ruby, I tried the Baxter jeans but couldn't get them over my calfs =( may try again tho as it was a few weeks ago.

I just don't want that feeling of dread when nothing fits/looks good

Petitemum I was lucky enough to get a Cartier for my 21st so I don't need a watch, shoes I could be tempted with. My collection of beautiful heels have been shelved in favour of my emus!

I'm quite excited about being let loose in selfridges tho
