Fine lines around eyes- what works?

Just noticed ive started to get a few fine lines around my eyes- I'm 31 & don't think late nights with DD aged 22 months have helped in the last year or so.

So can anyone recommend anything that helps in terms of a cream/ serum? I seem to have quite heavy eyelids too. Thanks

Boots protect & perfect serum, only at night, SPF in the day.
This works!

ChicHappens · 17/09/2012 18:33

I use argan oil at night and my lines have plumped up really nicely.

Thank u both. Not sure about oil as my skin is quite oily & my eyes a bit sensitive but thanks for the tip- might work well on my neck.

Ah is there a special p&p eye cream? So just plain SPF?

Nah, just use the regular one. And don't worry about using real oil (like olive oil) on your face. 3 drops approx is all you need, massage it in nicely and job done!
Much cheaper than face cream and much better for your skin!

ChicHappens · 21/09/2012 09:25

Oil on oily skin is a brilliant thing, for nights anyway. I know it sounds counterproductive, but I have oily/acne skin and it's soooo much better after treating it with oil rather than punishing it with drying products.

Oooh lovely tips thank you. Smile so is olive oil the right oil to use on my skin? Handy as I have that in the kitchen cupboard!

stay out of the sun

milktraylady · 24/09/2012 12:03

Stitch is right- cheapest thing to do is NOT sunbathe get accidentally burnt etc

Yes olive oil from kitchen is all you need.
(my DH always whinging I nick the oil(he cooks))

SPF 25 every day even in winter.

Incidentally maybelline BB cream is SPF 30, try that?

Lottapianos · 24/09/2012 12:07

Maybelline BB cream is lovely by the way.

I am 32 and have noticed some fine lines recently. I really recommend oil - a few drops at night. If you have oily skin, try jojoba rather than olive oil. Have you heard of the Oil Cleansing Method OP? My skin loves it. Loads of threads about it on here or have a google if you're interested.

Absolutely agree that SPF is the way forward. And sadly all the boring stuff like sleep, water, not smoking or drinking alcohol/caffeine, eating vegetables really do work - not always the easiest things to do though! Smile

lizardqueenie · 24/09/2012 14:09

Thanks for the range on suggestions! I alternate between the no.7 BB cream which has SPF in & a dermologica with SPF & then Mac studio fix on top so I think the rest of my face & neck is ok- its just around the eyes that I need something for.

Yes have heard the OCM mentioned on here before but I didn't know if it sounded like a bit of a faff lazy and also I was quite worried about what my skin might be like at first. But perhaps I should bite the bullet & give it a whirl.

Yes drinking water does help massively- I noticed my skin turned more spotty & congested when I wasn't drinking enough water.

I'm a right lazy cow lizardqueenie and I don't find it a faff at all. And it costs pennies. Give it a go Smile

lizardqueenie · 24/09/2012 14:11

Also fortunately ives got very olive skin as I'm mixed race so haven't ever been burst & quite careful in the sun anyway. Other than the more serious side effects of sun damage there its quite humiliating being sunburnt when you were brown to start with!
