Has anyone seen any cheap, warm pyjamas for girls?

DD1 (age 4) needs new pyjamas. In fact she's had a growth spurt and needs new everything. I don't know why but I'm really shocked that pj's seem to be about £15 a pair for her age!!

As I have to buy her a whole new wardrobe I was hoping to spend more like £6 or £7 a pair on them, but the only ones I can find at those prices are either short sleeved or really thin.

Can I get them cheap anywhere or do I just need to suck it up?

Primark. Seriously. Lovely fleecy pj's.

Shesparkles · 16/09/2012 15:49

I'll second Primark for pjs

onebigwish · 16/09/2012 15:50

Sorry, I meant to add, we don't have a primark nearby!

Matalan do really good pyjamas for kids, and adults. Can be bought online too, if you don't have one near you.

onebigwish · 16/09/2012 15:53

Ooh, matalan, thanks, we've got one of those.

Get someone who does live near to buy them and send you them?

I buy all the DCs PJs from Primark. It's the only stuff for them that I do buy there, but the PJs are unbeatable. They have gorgeous fleecy ones and trad brushed cotton, as well as lots of soft cotton jersey in really subtle patterns. It's not all dayglo slogans.

Primani Grin

I've just got a load from Tesco online. Long sleeved etc. They have finally started to bring out their winter PJ range!

CaroleService · 16/09/2012 18:16

Land's End have them in the ale or clearance quite often.

WandaDoff · 16/09/2012 18:19

Asda have usually got nice kids pjs

LynetteScavo · 16/09/2012 18:19

Sainsburys do thermal longjohns in pale pink. I think they are £7ish for two bottoms and the same for two long sleeved tops. DD wears them as PJ's.

claricestar · 16/09/2012 21:42

sainsbury's usually do good pjs in packs of 2. nice thick cotton and ribbing at cuffs and ankles. wash well too.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/09/2012 21:46

Go somewhere where there is a Primark. Grin

Tesco had some nice ones in last week.

onebigwish · 16/09/2012 21:50

Thanks all.

Hmm, nearest Primark is only 15 miles away, I didn't actually know that..may go in the week when DD1 is at school..

Ethel Austin used to have gorgeous brushed cotton PJs...not sure if they are still in existence though....and they used to be very cheap too, 2 for a fiver or three for ten pounds! ABSOLUTE BARGAINS anyway.

yy Matalan.

Another top tip - hang onto those soft elasticated trousers they wear from about 18 months onwards, they make great pyjama trousers when they come out of nappies and their bottoms shrink!

They can be used as spare trousers with existing pyjama tops, or paired with long sleeved t-shirts which are too old and grubby for 'public' wear.
