Can anyone explain the sock bun to me?

I've searched S&B but can't find how to do a sock bun.

Have a look on YouTube. You basically cut the toe off a sock and roll it into a doughnut shape, stick your hair in a ponytail, and roll your hair up in the doughnut from the tip of the ponytail until your hair is in a bun. It'll be clearer if you watch someone doing it on YouTube.

There is a girl at my work that has a bun bigger than her head. I must ask her how she does it!

I didnt realise i could watch it on YouTube, I assumed it was a MN thing like the MN haircut and the wank sock not a mix of the two obviously

All manner of hair do and braiding tutorials on UTube. DD2 spends hours searching them out and then getting DD1 to try and do them.

She's given up asking me, I'm useless.

You can buy hair donuts from primark for £1. Don't waste a sock!

We have had numerous donuts that always get lost and cause last minute before school angst.

I will earn major brownie points for brandishing scissors at a sock and doing her need it now bun!

I made a sock donut...and promptly lost it Doesn't matter too much now though as my hair is too short to use it.

Basically you put in a ponytail. Put the sock at the end of the ponytail furthest from the head. Spread the bottom couple of inches over the sock, like a fountain. Then roll the sock down the ponytail and the hair rolls too. I don't use and pins of anything. You can't see the sock at all and my dd only has shoulder length fine hair. It's a modern day miracle.
