Muscular/slightly fat calves. Where can I find knee high boots?

That's it basically. I'd like some brown boots with a small heel or wedge. But all the one I've tried on I can only just get done up. Definitely no room for thick tights or skiiny jeans.

Anyone with larger calves had any luck?

I sympathise - I've got 'defined' calfs.

Duo makes wide-calf boots with plenty in brown.

Also the Hobbs Marion and Hobbs Cara have elastic side panels, which helps.

I sympathise, Shy as I have hefty calves and can rarely find boots to fit.

Duo make nice boots but the quality isn't great for the money. I've had several pairs and they only last a couple of seasons at most.

Clarks (yes, really!) do some wider fitting boots like these

Simply B?

Evans do them, but they do tend to be wide fitting. I bought some years ago and although I don't have wide feet, they were comfy. Sadly I don't think they will see another winter, but have lasted ages.

I have the same problem

Can second clarks

and if you have one near Diechmann (sp) I´m afraid it is a go and try it on job!

M&S has some lovely boots this year with a stretchy panel on the inside of the boot by the zip. Muscular calf, lovely fit, reasinable selection:

I second duo, pricey but well worth the money will last a good couple of winters at least.

Surprisingly, Doc Marten have some nice ones which are good for the larger of calf! Am lusting after the Haley.

Shybairns · 16/09/2012 20:00

Ooooh the Dr Martin ones are nice! I like the Haley too. Thanks

Gabor boots tend to be quite wide and they have lots of boots with adjustable straps.
