You know how sometimes you buy something really good and you think everyone should know about it? Blush

I found out recently that most company's claims about not testing on animals weren't exactly true even the more expensive brands Angry. I was also shocked to learn about the chemical nasties in makeup.

A friend told me about Lily Lolo mineral cosmetics that are natural, ethically sourced and absolutely NOT tested on animals. They don't use any ingredients that have been tested on animals at any point during the supply chain either.

The makeup is really good, most of it is loose powder, but foundation and concealer coverage is fantastic, and it doesn't contain nano particles that get into your pores unlike some brands. They have some lovely highlighters, eye shadows etc. It's really affordable too.

Sorry to bang on about it, but I was so impressed that I now feel compelled to recommend it!

70isaLimitNotaTarget, same here, although I think Lili Lolo has good staying power.

I love LilyLolo. I'm Asian and have struggled for years to find a foundation that's isn't White or orange. I wear the shade cinnamon and my skin looks fresh Grin

Where do you order the samples from? I use BM fairly light. What would the Lily Lilo equivalent be?

Whenisitmysleepytime · 17/09/2012 19:09

No idea what the shades are like as I've just ordered my samples.
I got them from the lily Lolo site, choose your shade then what size. £1.30 for a sample plus p&p.

If I was on my iPhone I had to click on the details bit to make the size options come up. Hmm

HTH :)

Prima it used to be under the drop down menu for the foundation you can choose your colour and size.

I used their Blondie foundation and finishing powder for about 5 years and loved it. I think though that my skin has changed (I'm 52) over the last year or so and instead of it making me look glowing and fresh, it's just started making me look 'unfinished' and a bit unwell! So sadly, I've moved on and am trying other foundations. Not found 'the' one yet but am using a benefit liquid one at the mo and although it's a bit greasy, I don't look like I'm sickening for something. I found the lili lolo really lasted all day (well, there was plenty on my cotton wool pads when I removed it anyhow.)

In 5 years of wearing the Lili Lolo products their service and delivery times were always fantastic I have to say.

I have used Lily Lolo foundation for the past few years, but in the Autumn/Winter only, as I don't bother with it in the Summer.

My skin has definitely taken a turn for the drier in recent months and I'm finding the Lily Lolo foundation is making my skin feel very dry, even if I moisturise well before putting it on. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, have you found a way round it? I'm experimenting with putting on several layers of moisturiser, but it's not worked so far. I'm loathe to switch brands, because Lily Loo has the exact colour for me and doesn't irritate my skin/eyes.

LesleyPumpshaft · 18/09/2012 08:08

Fozzleyplum, I've not had dry skin since changing to Lili Lolo makeup at all, in fact, my skin is loads better. No more irritation, hives, dry patches etc.

Mind you, I also changed to organic and natural products such as moisturiser, makeup remover, facial wash, shampoo etc... These probably help too.
