Sounds a bit crazy but anybody else tried it, I've heard a few times of people using this to straighten there hair with excellent results but I'm a bit scared to try it I couldn't find Perming lotion today but got conditioning foam perm I'm guessing its same thing

I did it in my twenties to get rid of a perm I had. It worked ok but you need to make sure you keep combing our hair to avoid it setting in a wave or the shape of your neck iyswim

I've done this before when I worked in a hairdressers. A lot of women with very thick curly hair would have this done (though the lads were the ones having perms!)

It basically involves continually combing the hair while the solution is on, and then rinsing and doing the same with the neutraliser. (Check the instructions re rinsing).

The easiest way (or the way I used to do it) was to get the lady to lie back with her hair in the washbasin, and comb the hair against the basin as straight as possible. That would obviously involve a friend helping.

Leave the solution and then the neutraliser on for as long as it says on the pack for a perm (less if your hair is in poor condition though).

We usually had pretty good results doing this, it was often Asian women who had it done and they often had quite coarse, curly hair which turned out nice and straight.

Of course you'll have the same or maybe better results with a straightening kit or Brazilian blow dry kit.
