Going to an opening of a new shop
this weekend and my usually reliable dresses won't fit around my newly acquired girth (courtesy of a summer of scoffing). It's my friends shop and I don't want to let her down.

Are there any dresses out there that'll fit the bill. They must be available online, comfy yet chic, stretchy and black, and MUST have the ability to change a flabby 14 to a toned 12.

Have you tried on the Gok Wan one with built-in Spanx in Sainsbos? Only £40.
Try it on though, I'm a large 12 and nearly had to ask the staff for help getting in and out of the size 12. Managed by myself eventually with Lamaze breathing and visualising Mel Gibson and his straight jacket in Lethal Weapon.

I like that silkstalkings but why would you design a slimming dress that exposes your arms tut tut Gok!

You'll need a longsleeved shrug then, v useful things for showing off your waist without showing off your arms, have a look on Ebay.

This looks like not much on the page but I have bought it today and think its my perfect black dress. Sleeves, length, waist, plus I am a 14 and it's v flattering indeed.
