i am miffed because they had the same one as we do but they changed it because they thought it was too "scruffy" "not posh enough" humff!

and do you have to take something like a bottle of wine? i dont like wine!

I take something, not always wine, flowers or chocs

I prefer people to bring flowers or chocs as can't alwyas rely on the wine to be, erm, nice.

Take flowers - always nicer than getting wine, which they damn well ought to provide if they've invited you round.
Wear something comfortable. They'll be too busy looking at the table anyway

Aren't other people a nightmare? Why don't you wear tracky bottoms and all come round to mine (sans flowers, but chocs pretty much essential to guarantee entry) for fish and chips and a couple of rounds of Cranium?
