Cutting own hair

My hair needs a bit of a trim. Nothing drastic but just a bit of a tidy and some form of side fringe redoing. Is there anyway I could do this myself without it being a complete disaster?

I have never tried it so if you go ahead don't flame me for the consequences, but there is a you tube video of Lee Stafford showing you how to put your hair in a ponytail on top of your head to trim it.
I think it's from when he did , The Salon

If you are brave enough to try let me know how it goes as mime needs doing too!

What style do you have already?

MNhoneydragonHQ · 10/09/2012 20:16

Five I do my hair like that it's fine.

I did have a inverted bob type doo dah with a side fringe. It's grown out and now it's all shoulder length with centre parting (showing off mars attack alien style forehead!)

I cut my fringe straight across and layer the rest using the Lee Stafford / Mnet haircut.

YouTube has some excellent tutorials on cutting bangs/ fringes

Ooh might have to give it a go as I hate the hairdressers and struggle to find the time too. If I'm feeling brave I might have a go at the weekend!
I have asked DH before but he refuses!
