Does anyone really get 6 weeks hair-free from armpit waxing?

I read all the up to 6 weeks hair free blurb and think "Who are they kidding"?

I'm pale skinned with dark hair, so it shows.
But I waxed before holiday (and the hairs had the little lump on the end, so I know they hadn't just snapped under the skin)

I exfoliate, dry, talc, hotwax. Lovely smooth pits.
By the end of the week they were creeping back in.
I know the hairs don't all grow in the same phase.
But a week.Seriously Confused

I get maybe a week and a half completely hair-free and that's even in winter when I let everything grow out a bit so I know I'm not waxing mid cycle

No WAY would I ever get 6 weeks hair free. I think it's more like 6 weeks between waxes but that always means at least 3 to 4 weeks of hairy pits doesn't it? Confused

This is why I don't wax under my arms. I get my legs done, but shave my armpits every few days. That 6 weeks stuff is nonsense.

I use an epilator, can't stand the feeling of shaved

It's more like 1 week for me too (though I epilate rather than wax). Still better than shaving though.

No, never have.I think you get a bit longer if you follow up your first waxing with another a week later to clean up the ones which were just about to pop through the first time, but not 6 weeks worth.

I have also never found that waxing decreases future growth... 30 years of waxing my legs and the bastards are as thick and springy as ever.
