Wedding makeup - mother of the bride

I hardly wear any makeup - generally teenage daughters' cast off mascaras.
But my DD1 marries in a fortnight and I want to get myself a foundation (not worn one in 20 plus years), a blusher and lipstick.

I just don't know where to start - can anyone recommend a light foundation and perhaps a good blusher/lipstick combination. I tend to prefer pink blusher shades and avoid very light coloured lipsticks.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

If you live near a big city why dont you take yourself into a big department store and ask for some makeup advice. They will often make you up and I am sure they would if you say you are the mother of the bride. You dont have to buy all the makeup that they use but it would give you an idea of what suits you. Another thing you could do is book a session with a makeup artist with a local beautician ( it should not be too expensive), go for a trial session and if you like what they do get them to do your makeup on the day. I had a lady who came to the house on my wedding day and it was not too expensive. IHTH:
