My best friends mum died 2w ago. We grew up together (were 2 when we met) so she was like an auntie to me. Her funeral is a week today in a church, then crem, wake at a club house.

I have a plain black jersey dress that is perfect and am planning on wearing that. However, if the weather is nice I will be too warm, I have a demure chiffon dress with pleated skirt that has no sleeves, but it has a mint trim about 3 inches wide on the bottom. The rest is black though.

Would that be an appropriate alternative?

You knew the lady well. What would she have thought?

Ditto to the query about how the lady would have felt.

The only thing I would add is a throw, cardi or jacket to wear in church as some people feel it is more respectful for the tops of arms to be covered in church. I'm pretty sure G/god doesn't give two hoots what a person wears but some people may.

I think she would have hugged me and told me that I was born in the wrong era, could see me as a feminist campaigner in the 60's, but what a pretty dress Grin Sad

Then wear it. It is what in your heart that counts not dressed head to toe in black. Thanks
