Need to spend £35 in M&S, what shall I buy?

Took some clothes to Oxfam this morning and got one of those M&S £5 off vouchers if you spend £35 or more. Always a sucker for this type of thing, I desperately want to use the voucher. What would you buy?

Don't fall for it! Just keep the voucher safe until it expires

ElectricMonk · 06/09/2012 10:43

If you're happy to go £10 over, I highly recommend these: www.marksandspencer.com/Autograph-Leather-Almond-Court-Shoes/dp/B0033ZW2LE?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_2&nodeId=42966030&sr=1-2&qid=1346924538&pf_rd_r=15ESYT2F1XDPE7PEEW1Q&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=321381407&pf_rd_s=center-3

They are very comfortable and I have had lots of compliments since I bought them! I currently have the nude (which is more of a light tan and goes with everything), but I really want the black as well for winter.

Love the shoes but out of stock in my size! Booo. Any other ideas? Happy to go over £35 but need to use voucher before end of September.

I'm getting those shoes for a wedding next summer, can't get over how alike they are to some of the styles in LK Bennett, but at a quarter of the price.

Have you seen the Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely lingerie range? Some of that stuff is gorgeous.

WowOoo · 06/09/2012 11:53

I got that voucher from Oxfam, but did not spend it.

I still have some more M and S stuff for Oxfam. The lesson I have learnt is:
Wait until you want to spend £35 there and then pop to Oxfam before...Or that's my plan.

No help at all sorry!

GobblersKnob · 06/09/2012 11:54

Ha ha, I have just done an online order for £34.50

I bought this scarf for my mum for her birthday, I have one the same, but in a slightly different colour, it is enormous and very gorgeous.

And two pairs of these in burgudy and black as my local M&S doesn't have them in stock.

GobblersKnob · 06/09/2012 11:55

Out of interest what do you have to give to Oxfam to get the voucher?

PropertyNightmare · 06/09/2012 13:23

Can you spend the money on food? Lots of fabulous goodies in the foodhall.

minipie · 06/09/2012 16:13

at the moment I would buy baby clothes (but may not suit you Grin) or alternatively a few pairs of their thermal tights (100+ denier) for winter which I've just seen recommended on another S&B thread.

bishboschone · 06/09/2012 16:23

Have you seen the new shape denim ? It's supposed to be very good .

sugarice · 06/09/2012 16:43

I second spending it on food!

BonnyDay · 06/09/2012 17:18

I bought a ltd collection black sparkly top. Sheer back

PropertyNightmare · 06/09/2012 18:04

On the food front, I would buy a tub of flapjacks, a tub of mini chocolate rolls and several packs of white submarine bread rolls. The onion bajhis are an absolute must have. The Italian ready meals are quick and tasty. The cheese and tomato party pizza is bloody delicious

DilysPrice · 06/09/2012 18:21

There are some fantastic high heeled Autograph slate blue suede shoe boots with zips down the side which I slavered over in M&S this lunchtime. I was tempted to post asking you lot to stage an emergency intervention and talk me out of it (I have nothing in my wardrobe I could possibly wear them with), but I restrained myself because obviously what you'd actually have done is link me to 300 quid's worth of Autumn wardrobe to wear them with.

I can't link from phone, (or indeed find them on the mobile website) but maybe someone else can find them? (and preferably tell me firmly that they're hideous)

maryquant · 06/09/2012 18:36

Wine and food

DilysPrice · 06/09/2012 18:47

Ah, I found them, but they're 69 quid, not the 49 quid I remembered them as. So no good for you OP. Do you not have DCs who'll need new dressing gowns and slippers? Or just get underwear and Wine. I like their costume jewellery actually.

Here, can someone please take a look at them and slag them off for me.

Cartoonjane · 06/09/2012 18:52

You could get some vests ready for winter. M and S do long sleeved ones whichate great when it's really cold.

dexter73 · 06/09/2012 19:10

Don't buy this top. I got it yesterday thinking it would be a nice going out top. When I got home and tried it on it looked awful! That will teach me to buy things without trying them on first!

PurpleAndPoppyWearer · 06/09/2012 19:12

The skinny jeans and jeggings are fab!

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 06/09/2012 19:13

tights, their tights are fab!

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 06/09/2012 19:13

ultimate knickers, they are as good looking as hold in pants can be because they're kinda retroey

Itsgottabebags · 06/09/2012 19:16

Can you spend them online? M and S online ( and in some branches in their new beauty halls)sell brands line Nuxe etc!

RayofSun · 06/09/2012 19:48

dilys, love the boots! Sorry, no help!!Grin

GraduallyGoingInsane · 06/09/2012 19:57

Cashmere. I bought an M&S black cashmere cardigan about 4 years ago. I'm a lawyer (dull wardrobe!) and in winter I wear the cardigan at least twice a week. It goes through the delicate wash setting on my machine.

No joke, it looks brand new. I paid about £50 but it was so worth it. Contemplating a grey one this year.
