Anyone have an opinion on Hush- I've succumbed.....

I came across Hush for the first time today. I'm usually pretty restrained when shopping online but I've placed quite a big order (well big for me).

I loved loads of the collection, but now I'm feeling a bit guilty, not least because it's all very casual 'leisure' type stuff which I can't argue that I actually need.

I wondered if anyone else likes the brand, or have I been seduced by clever marketing?

I've got lots, I love it, it has turned me into a bit of a lounge wear queen though, the long harems are too comfy to wear anything else.

GobblersKnob · 03/09/2012 20:56

I hate it, the quality is dire and things wash and wear sooooo badly, I have also had quite bad experiences with their customer service.

Sorry.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 03/09/2012 21:07

Weird knobblers, mine get washed at 60degrees repeatedly and are fine. And everything arrives beautifully packaged and swiftly. How odd that we can have completely different experiences.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 03/09/2012 21:08

Sorry Gobblers, wish I could say that was the autocorrect but it was just me being a numpty.

GobblersKnob · 03/09/2012 21:12

'knobblers' better than the knobber I got called yesterday Grin

I will agree that everything is beautifully packaged, it even smells nice, also I haven't ordered from them for a couple of years, mainly because I will never ever order from them again, so they might have upped their game.

It's not just me though, we have had many a long thread on here bemoaning the shiteness of Hush.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 03/09/2012 21:15

I have only bought things within the last couple of years so maybe it is better, other companies have lost my money as the customer service was just woeful, Isabella Oliver am looking at you.

Housewifefromheaven · 03/09/2012 21:17

I only wear hush pyjamas. I love them Smile

wanttomakeadifference · 03/09/2012 21:33

Hmm mixed experiences. Hopefully they've upped their game from when gobbler had poor quality and service.

I still can't quite believe how impulsive I've been, or how much I liked their range. Maybe it's the thought of autumn looming that has sent me scurrying towards cosy looking leisurewear.

I really like it, only good experiences of service and quality -
I have only bought pj's though, not clothes as such. Wrap, on the other hand (for some reason I get this confused with hush in my head), terrible terrible terrible.

I ordered a couple of years ago and was unimpressed, but gave in and ordered in the sale this year and felt it was much much better quality. Have a basket full that I need to pare down a bit before placing my own A/W order!

FreeButtonBee · 04/09/2012 08:27

I got a few things last year and they do get worn a lot - partic the big oversized scarf - it's so cozy. Leggings are also excellent - very high waisted and stretchy in a good way - am still wearing them at 16wks PG with twins and they wash back to normal shape v easily.

EdMcDunnough · 04/09/2012 08:32

I have only bought one pair of pyjamas in the sale about a year ago. I don't think the quality is that good.

The fabric feels a bit poor to me - I mean it's fine but I certainly wouldn't have paid more than £20 for them.

I found the choice of colours and patterns really boring too.

ujjayi · 04/09/2012 14:35

I had a huge Hush crush 2 winters ago and still wearing those items regularly now except for the cardigown. Well, I wear it in the house but wouldn't go out in it as despite being cosy it is looking worn and the wide cuffs bug me.

Their knitted dresses and harems are particularly good.

monkeysmama · 04/09/2012 14:55

I think I must have got a dud order. I ordered two pairs of the harems a year or so ago. I didn't send them back when I wanted to because of all the good reviews. I think the quality isn't great and the colours faded after a few washes. I'd never wear them out.

AuldAlliance · 04/09/2012 16:49

I have the Amy dress and it's worn well, unlike a cardigown I was given which pilled as soon as I unwrapped it.
Their sizing is bizarre, however. Everything is cut very wide, so if fitted clothes suit you better, you may want to look elsewhere. I sent back 2 cardigans in XS (I am not XS) because they were so wide.
I agree the stuff smells lovely when you open it, makes you realise how horrible and chemical most new clothes smell.

faustina · 04/09/2012 18:49

...it's all very boxy isn't it. I bought masses in the summer sale. Some of it is fantastic - a sundress with ties at the shoulders - i'm somewhere v hot right now and have worn it almost every day. Another little dress in navy with short sleeves - really nice. I bought some navy loose trousers though - wore them once, and they are unwearable now - the elastic waist all twisted and horrible. Didn't even bother to bring them with me. I tried one of the jersey jackets and it was too boxy, so sent it back. Oh and a skirt which was just massive, even in the extra small. I think the nice photos and the pretty wafty models they use lull you into wanting to buy

AtaleOfTwoCities · 04/09/2012 19:05

What is the sizing like, I would like to order the harems, are they any good? I'm an 8 to 10. Mostly an 8 though so wasnt sure if xs or s.
Thanks

LaurieFairyCake · 04/09/2012 19:11

I much prefer White company roll tops or Me and Em lounge pants or Boden pull ons.

My White company ones are 4 years old and I wear them a lot.

PoshPaula · 04/09/2012 19:52

I'm watching with interest as I've just placed a big order with Hush! I was really pleased with the pieces I bought from the summer range, sizes are just right for me and the fit is relaxed/generous. The stuff washed well. I like the styles and the fabric.

jamaisjedors · 04/09/2012 20:19

Hmm, I have 2 pairs of pjs from them and they haven't washed well at all and I had to replace the waist elastic after a year or so. I have a pair of white company pjs which I have had for the same amount of time and they are MUCH more comfortable and the cotton is much better quality.

I agree the sizes are a bit odd - I have some XS pjs and I am a 10 usually.

Also, the last pair of pajamas I got from them smelt lovely but I came out in an allergic reaction to the fragrance (or to the chemicals it is covering up) when I wore them for the first time. I washed them a couple of times after that and they were ok.

But now White company pajamas are all modal jersey rather than actual cotton ... sob...

wanttomakeadifference · 06/09/2012 17:04

Well they get zero points for sending the order out quickly. I placed my order on Monday and I've just received an email today (Thursday late afternoon), to say the order has been dispatched today and will take 3-4 days to arrive.

When I originally placed the order I was yd it would arrive within 4-5 days of actually placing it, and unpaid £4.50 for this. However, given that it has taken them 3 days to even send it I'm not impressed.
