I need wide fitting, cheap, non-ugly shoes to go with this dress please! And some styling advice too.

This is the dress, I think I want navy, but I like the fushcia too.

I'll be 30 weeks pregnant when I'm wearing this dress, probably to two events in one week as I can't find anything else that would look ok on me. So I could do with some advice on how to style it to make it look different second time round.

I'm struggling to find shoes...
I definitely want a pair of heels for the one party, but need to be wide and comfy as I don't know if there'll be anywhere to sit for the night.
I'd also like flat shoes for the other party, it's a daytime thing and I'll need to be able to run after my 2 year old in them.

These are what I've found so far -

Next nude heels
Next Berry platforms - Maybe too high?
Next Nude platforms- Also maybe too high?
New Look nude wedges - too boring?

New Look brown pumps - They don't have my size online, but may have in store
New Look bow slipper in black or tan
New Look ruffle trim pump in black or brown

Honest opinions please, and any other offerings much appreciated.

Well I had a 100% unsuccessful trip into town today. New look had none of those shoes in store, I tried some wide fitting shoes in Debenhams but they weren't any good, and I didn't get to Next due to whining children!

Oh, that sounds hellish. Could you not order online and spare yourself some earache?

I like the fuschia version best, the navy is nice too though. Also, as a fellow widefooter I find I tend to go avoid navy dresses, I like 'em but they really need coloured shoes and I can never find any I like that fit.

How about these? Not quite high enough? Would work with either colur of dress.

ItsMyLastOne · 01/09/2012 21:06

It is annoying isn't it that just because you have wide fit, companies seem to think you also want frumpy shoes!

I think I prefer the fushcia too, but DP talked me into buying the navy. I have 3 weeks till the first party though so I can always exchange it if I do't like it.

I hadn't remembered M&S do wide fit so thanks for the link. I quite like these and these. Do you think the dark red would go with navy?

Gosh, could you wear those heels (red M & S) at 30weeks pg?

ItsMyLastOne · 01/09/2012 21:09

Oh forgot to say, I would order online but there were so many I wanted to try on I thought it'd be easier to go into town and look! On a saturday afternoon, what kind of idiot wold do that?! Hmm

I think I might ask one of the GP's to babysit during the week while I shop alone.

Grin Merry Normally I wear more like 4" heels, I wore 3.5" heels on thursday night and they were fine. I reckon 3" seems sensible! Blush

I quite like these [[http://www.schuh.co.uk/womens-black-red-or-dead-jean-brodie-patent-and-dots/1373317040/?affiliate_source=AW&campid=1127&adid=0&lpcat=network&channel=affiliate&utm_source=AW&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_content=link&utm_campaign=AW&cid=A1&_$ja=tsid:35569|kw:ShopStyle+UK|cgn:79682 redordead) but not sure it goes with dress style...

MerryCosIWonaGold · 01/09/2012 21:19

oops navy bow

RandomMess · 01/09/2012 21:19

Have you looked at the "Duo" site? As in Duo Boots they do width fitting shoes and have an outlet site too - you can get to it from the main one.

MerryCosIWonaGold · 01/09/2012 21:23

dotty p's

Maraki · 01/09/2012 21:24

Just wanted to say that I have the dark red M&S autograph heels and they are incredibly comfy, and IMO would look great with the navy dress (which is fabulous).

ItsMyLastOne · 01/09/2012 21:31

Oh thank you all so much ladies! This is cheering me up no end!

I can't buy in Evans annoyingly because their smallest size is a 4 but 4's are always too big there.

I love those navy DP ones, I'd need to try my fat feet in them though!

Thanks Maraki, they're worth a try then.

I didn't know Duo had a cheapy site, off to search that out.

MigratingCoconuts · 01/09/2012 21:34

Can 't you load up the Evans shoe with insoles??

ItsMyLastOne · 01/09/2012 21:45

Hmm, could do. I normally avoid insoles when squeezing my feet into normal shoes so it hadn't occurred to me. I can't even do those gel cushion things normally.

I agree about frumpy shoes. Since having to wear orthotics buying shoes is a nightmare. Hotter arent any good and they dont suit Clakes not wide enough...I have tried somany...not leather...not wide enough ...cant get my orthotics in...roll on winter...at least then I can wear my fabulous Skechers boots.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 07/06/2018 21:39

Primark do wide fit shoes too, you could go with a bright colour like fuschia or emerald or even orange and match accessories so it looks different at each event. especially if you add a pashmina or scarf

Paintbox · 07/06/2018 21:44

I think op will have had the event now and worn the shoes, this thread is 6 years old!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 09/06/2018 11:34

oh bugger caught by a zombie.... again!
