I think I discovered the most gorgeous scent ever today

I think I'm in love! It's a Tom Ford men's one called iirc 'Tuscan Leather' and it smells of dusty bookshops, old pub seats, fag ash, coal etc. It is far and away the most gorgeous 'perfume' I have ever encountered. Sadly, it is also over a hundred squid a bottle.

Rich ladies - buy this for your husbands now! :)

I bought Tom's Tobacco Vanille for myself and DH moved the bottle to his bathroom cabinet...

The man in Selfridges told me he'd never met a woman who liked it. It is so, so nice that I can't stop thinking about it! Tobacco Vanille was quite nice too - I'd like it on dp but wasn't fond of it on me.

They say Tuscan Leather smells like cocaine...
I have a tiny sample and wear it sometimes. To me it's more Lapsang Souchong tea.

Most scents are actually unisex: even the mainstream houses have started make leather scents for women - check out Bottega Veneta EdP. I love leather scents and wear many of them - my favorites include Cuir de Russie and Antaeus by Chanel and Leather Oud by Dior.

Sounds just like my sort of thing Remus Will have a big old squirt next time I'm near a Tom Ford counter, which will possibly be never

Tom Ford frangrances are far and away my favourites. Me & DH both wear White Patchouli, and I also love Black Orchid.

Grey Vetiver is heavenly too.

Burberry Weekend FOR MEN is lovely if you like fresh unisex scents.

tom ford's new one (name??) smells like 4711. I quiiiite like 4711 but that's a fiver.

It's a bargain basement option but some Next men's scents are absolutely gorgeous. I used to wear one that they discontinued (drat) - I loved it.

The new Tom Ford (Neroli Portofino) is a classic eau de cologne but it lasts. I have a small vial (7? from Alla Violetta) and it cuts through humid heat like nothing else. Love Eau Sauvage by Dior and Divine Bergamote (The Different Company) for the same reason.

Not exactly the same Remus but you should explore the men's side of perfume shelves. Chanel Antaeus is very affordable - less than 50? at the duty free yesterday . For more ideas, search Basenotes for leather perfumes.

And don't forget Bottega Veneta.

Armani Privé Cuir Amethyst is a very lovely leather-y fragrance and if you buy the refill, as opposed to the fancy-schmancy bottle with the amethyst on the top, you can get it for 50 quid.

Bvlgari Black is a gorgeous leathery burnt rubbery unisex scent and often on offer on Cheapsmells, Fragrances Direct etc

Fan di Fendi is leather smelling.

Which Selfridges are you near Remus ? The one in central Manchester ( not the Trafford Centre ) has an Armani Boutique which is where I encountered Cuir Amethyste, fell in love then gaped in horror at the price. ( and then came home, googled it and found it cheaper on Amazon )

Tom Ford does magic in a bottle. I also love Azure Lime.

For a proper filthy sexy leather, try Eau d'Hermes.

Liking the sound of filthy sexy but it doesn't sound like it would be less than 40 pounds! :)
