Ok, so I thought it should always be brown boots with jeans however all I can see in magazines/websites is black boots with jeans Confused

So have things changed for this winter or is it me and black boots have always been 'acceptable'?!?!

well, what else are we supposed to wear for 80% of the year

Mellower · 30/08/2012 18:12

I cannot find any nice grey boots. Or nice Timberland ones. Or any nice cheapboots.

BigBoobiedBertha · 30/08/2012 18:20

dexter73 - I have searched. I see what you mean about all boots are mum boots to somebody. And yes you are probably right, I probably do have some.

I only came here looking for some inspiration for new ankle boots and now I'm all confused and feel doomed to make a MN fashion faux pas. I am sure it won't be the first or the last. Smile

PippiL · 30/08/2012 18:21

Sorry, part of the mum boot hysteria down to me... Have posted recently about mum boots.

But really I blame it on Imnotinterested who started it.

I cannot find a single fecking pair of boots I really like. Apart from some Hudson ones that I can't afford.

PippiL · 30/08/2012 18:22

No there are no nice timberland ones this year.

noddyholder · 30/08/2012 18:30

My laredoute ones should come tomorrow so will report back

Jeans keep legs warm, boots keep feet dry.

Mum boots are comfy!

BIWI · 30/08/2012 18:35

I hate grey boots/shoes. I always think that they look like really cheap leather. And associate them with middle-aged men who wear their trousers way too short, revealing grubby socks with aforesaid shoes.

PippiL · 30/08/2012 18:37

Hmmm, have gone off the grey boot idea all of a sudden.

BIWI - that is exactly what I thought of when I first saw mention of grey boots. The cheap colour supplement things where you get 2 pairs of real leather shoes for £20. Not seen any on these links to rid me of that image even if the style of the boots are nice.

Chocamochalatte · 30/08/2012 19:38

Grey patent? Now I like the sound of that! Smile

I like black boots because paired with indigo denim they are leg lengthening where as tan (hides from tethers) and grey etc cut your leg off more. Which is obviously fine if you're tall but if you're more ahem dumpy - well I'm going for every trick in the book to make my legs look longer.

And yes Pippi - I'm giving you a very hard stare. Pistols being mum boots indeed Wink
