Best jeans when you have a tummy?

I am losing weight (9lbs so far) but it is a slow process with 28lbs still to go. I bought the £15 Dorothy Perkins jeans on MNters recommendation but they sit below the tummy and I feel really fat and self conscious. I don't want to spend a lot as I was hoping to not buy anything until I had lost weight as my wardrobe is already full and I have too much stuff that I have bought that is now too big, but I need some jeans now.

Any ideas you wise S & B'ers?

Next high-waisted jeans. Most flattering jeans I have ever worn. You can get them in bootcut, slim or skinny. They come up to your navel and give you lots of hold-innage. Only £28 as well so very bargainous Smile

Same prob here, but I hate high waisted things make my tummy look even worse! I bought a body control body type thing, that buttons up down below. Love it! Holds the rolls in and makes me feel up together.

Thanks Lottapianos. I will have a look next time I am near a Next.

I bought high waisted hold all in knickers from M & S but they are rubbish. The smooth but don't flatten and imo emphasise my tummy. WHat have you bought jomt?

The problem I used to have with jeans was two fold - muffin top and leg creepage (when your jeans slide down your legs and need hoicking up all the time). The high waisted jeans hold your wobbly bits in and give you a lovely smooth shape. They have loads of stretch to them so are really comfy.

Topshop Kristen jeans are THE BEST jeans on the high street as far as I'm concerned. They're properly high waisted, made of denim that is stretchy but doesn't stretch out, and incredibly flattering on my a mummy tummy.

I have never bought anything from Topshop in my life and I figured I was too old to shop in there now!

I feel like I'm too old for about 90% of the stuff in Topshop (and I'm still in my twenties) but I make an exception for the jeans of wonder Grin

I have Kristen jeans too, I tried a LOT on, and they are magical. They are skinny tho. I don't know if they do a different cut with the same magical waisted-ness.

MarianForrester · 29/08/2012 21:01

I like the Oasis high waisted jeans. They are not super high so as to emphasise a tummy, but just higher than usual to stop tummy wobbling over the top. Not that mine does, you understand... Grin

H and M keep my significant tum under control, and don't slip down. It's taken me 5 years to discover these!

shattereddreams · 29/08/2012 21:11

Sainsbury.

And I would say the jeans are less the problem, more you're wearing wrong tops!

Go for long hip length tight vests and a contrast top over the top in a flared/boxy/bubble hem and make sure it's long enough to cover your Tum!

Sounds vile and certain to make hips look bigger.

I wear long tops but it is the trousers that would contain the tummy area, and they don't. They need to come up higher I think.
