Talk to me about Aubergine.......

I've seen lots of it about recently, I'm guessing it's the new in colour for this coming season. I'd love to incorporate it into my wardrobe but as a "summer" it's not one of my colours. Navy Blue, Brown and Pink are all in my colour palatte and ones I think would work especially well with this colour but I'm not sure how to work it in. I'm also a pear shape so need to keep the dark colours on my bottom half really and lighter (if possible) on the top half.

Any ideas or inpiration? Not many of the shops i generally shop in have a whole collection that I can pinch Wink

Hi sweetheart. I have bought a few bits in colours I would prob call maroon or claret/burgundy? I have quite a lot of these colours on my colour chart (also summer HOC) I plan to wear with brown, grey or blue (not too dark) also maybe teal/green Ish colours? I like this sort of combination colour wise here

I love aubergine and hope to stock up as its in this season. I don't wear black so its my go to dark neutral along with navy blue.

Hmm looking at teh Kettlewell page it has lots of the dark plums for a summer but those aren't the colours I was given when i had my analysis done - they are much more pastel colours!

eal sounds good too and is also one of the colours on my chart - I really need some ideas of how to piece it togehter - I don't tend to wear much pattern so it would be block colour items.

Thnk I'll need some plum trousers as I already have lots of navy tops to wear with it.

Without knowing anything about you, these are ideas just for colour combinations more than style ideas

burgundy and teal
minus black accessories

House of colour summer has a dark sea green, which is teal-y, just more on the green than blue side I suppose. It's a question of what the shops call 'teal' isn't it? The only way to be sure is to check it against your chart.

ohhh ellengirl i love those ideas - exactly what I was after Grin I really must have a think about what I've got and how i can tie in some key pieces. I'd really like a brown leather jacket as I have a black one which I love but apparently black is a colour I shouldn't wear! Never quite sure what shade of brown would be best for optimum wear though!

I brought a few teal bits after having my colours done last year

I love teal too but had previously only felt it really looked good with black which I don't tend to wear. It's nice to see it alongside some other colours which i would wear.

Yes re rose brown. Avoid anything tan (orange based) or anything too dark chocolate brown. Glad to be of help, you just have to play around a bit I think and try new things. Happy shopping!
