I want to buy a good coat that is waterproof and totally warm enough when standing around in the freezing cold. I want one that lasts but don't want to really go above more than £100. My friend said didriksons was good? It would be good if it was flattering shape but truthfully I would put comfort first. I am of an age I think Another friend swears by a duvet coat from landsend. I really am of an age..

The didriksons are good ie waterproof and warm but are way over £100. Lots on here swear by the Merrell haven/ Wakefield. There's sales on tm so you may ind them for less than £100. I was in your position last year and ended up getting a lands end down coat. It's not the most fashionable but its very warm and waterproof. If you do a search on mums net you'll find last years threads
