...at 32 to wear it Blush

Like, I was thinking, one of their logo'ed vests / t shirts with super skinny jeans

I remember it first time round, I would have been 10 - 13 when it was really in fashion, but I was neither old enough or cool enough to wear it :o

I just love the 90's revival that seems to be hot at the moment, but have heard it said if you were old enough to remember fashions first time round you should steer clear.....

I just read this to my dd who is 15 and wears BOY clothing and she told me I had to tell you that you are too old to wear it. However I think you can wear whatever you like!

noddyholder · 27/08/2012 19:38

I had it 1st time round Grin Pink t shirt saying sugar boy boy

cazza40 · 27/08/2012 19:38

Yes .. You are too old - sorry !

WoodlandHills · 27/08/2012 20:55

No sorry ....

WoodlandHills · 28/08/2012 08:56

I am actually, genuinely upset :(

Not because people have said I am too old, I do actually appreciate the honesty Thanks

But I now feel, for the first time in my life, genuinely and Properly past it and am questioning whether other things I wear are too young for me...

Its a cruel irony that when you are older you can afford all the hot labels and trends, but you are often "Too Old" for them who DECIDES this shit anyway???? :( Blush

I suppose I decide myself what I think I can wear. Now I am older (39) I don't really want to wear hot labels or trends like Rihanna is wearing as it just isn't me. If you really love something though just wear it.

noddyholder · 28/08/2012 09:01

I don't think it's age just theynare a bit naff this time round!

Niceupthedance · 28/08/2012 11:58

I have a BOY vest and I'm 39. Depends how you wear it I think. Also, I would rather wear BOY than Jack Wills etc.

NigellasGuest · 28/08/2012 12:11

NO WAY are you too old!
@ Dexter, who asked her 15 yr old DD, - 15 yr olds think 21 is past it!

vintagewarrior · 28/08/2012 12:22

Just a vest over jeans is fine, no mote than that tho!!

dexter73 · 28/08/2012 12:57

I know - I just wouldn't want to be copying what 15 year olds wear, I think I would look a bit tragic!

WoodlandHills · 28/08/2012 17:11

ouch @ dexter

:o

Maybe I should just stop getting my clothing ideas from heat magazine

I made some comment to a girl in the gym who was wearing the logo leggings to the effect that I had them and the skater skirt first time round. She looked at me like i was from Mars and I realised she wasn't even born when I was wearing them :-(
my mum threw out the lot. Also had the hat, a quilted bomber and a knitted jumper. Oh god and a polo neck that was red iwth the logo in black. Some lucky f*cker did well in Oxfam.

dexter73 · 28/08/2012 17:18

I'm not saying you would look tragic! I would feel like that if I was copying what my teenage daughter was wearing. I think it is different if your children are younger as you don't look like you are trying to compete with them IYSWIM.

WoodlandHills · 28/08/2012 17:41

Yeah I do know what you mean dexter re copying your teenage kids, i see no end of mums doing that around here and they are probably only mid - late 30's. my DC are only little though, 3 and 6, so i have delusions that i am a funky young ish mum

osterleymama · 29/08/2012 16:56

I'm 30 and I'd wear BOY if I was thin. And not pregnant.

WoodlandHills · 30/08/2012 09:45

Awww osterlymama why only if you were thin? :(

OP posts:
osterleymama · 02/09/2012 15:23

I just think I'd look silly trying to be trendy with a big bump (and matching big arse). I love cool clothes when I'm not pregnant but do feel self conscious when I'm overweight. But I still feel young at 30 (delusional?Blush). And most of my girlfriends my age are childless and still clubbing in East London, wearing BOY. Grin

WoodlandHills · 02/09/2012 17:20

You ARE young osterle, you are only 30. I remember wondering if I was old when I was 30, and I SO WASNT!!

I do know what you mean though, whenever I am pg I feel really untrendy and like there is not any point even trying to look good, just try not to look completely awful. haha :o

and here's me trying to convince dh we need DC3 lol
