Can S&B help me find a dress?

I'm not great at shopping and had the shock of my life yesterday when it turned out that DP is better than me!! Grin

He picked out this in the blue and white, and then matched it to these jeans. It looks really good in the flesh - its a combination I would never have picked and looks surprisingly chic and not frumpy.
While trying on the jeans in oasis, he picked out this dress to try over the jeans. It was a fab combo, but the cut of the dress meant it didn't sit right over the jeans. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a similarish very colourful short dress that could be worn over the mushroom/brown jeans I've just bought.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help...

Get a pair of leggings maybe? I wouldn't personally wear a dress over jeans - the buttons/zip are going to potentially show through.

I wouldn't wear a dress over jeans - what's wrong with tops?

how about this or this or this? Maybe with a naice blazer or summat?

Thanks for the recommendations... The Zara blouse is very pretty and would be lovely with lots of things.
I will wear skinny jeans with tops but I liked the look of something abit longer that covers the bum and have often seen people with short dresses/ tunics but worn over leggings or skinny jeans but as I've never owned a short tunic type dress I've never tried that look, and when we did it in the shop it looked really good, but the dress wasn't cut so it really worked!
I think another shopping trip maybe in order as we had to rush back because the time on the car was running out!!!
