VVVVV posh wedding - men in mourning suits - what on earth can I wear??

Thats about it! Just found out we've got childcare which was the easy bit as no idea what to wear! Its easy for DH but not sure how posh women have to wear. I'm not really a suit person so thought of maybe an A line skirt and fitted cardi on top with killer heels but not sure if thats posh enough??? Its early April so might be hot or might be cold ....
Someone help - I've just got used to being a SAHM after DD2 and know that I've got to make more effort than I currently do for the school run!
Thanks in advance - SLx
PS DH given me carte blanche with the credit card......

Sounds more like a funeral if the blokes are going to be in mourning suits!

The last hideously posh wedding we went to, the emphasis was on hats or fripperies in one's hair! It did make the difference and once everyone is sat down at the meal your outfit can't be seen, so my tip is buy an outfit you like and feel comfortable in and dress it up with a hat type affair.

Thanks MaloryTowers! right I'm size 16 on top with hefty chest (finshed bf a while ago but they are still large ....!) and nudging 18 on bottoms if separates but 16 in a dress if that makes sense!

I was thinking dress too but will it be warm enough??? Do you think I need a hat???

Same here MT - a couple of dh's family looked like they'd just run through a jumble sale and put on the first thing they grabbed Grin

Sadly I know it will be posh! Its a friend of DHs from university and they are that way inclined! More don't want to look like I've fallen off the style wagon completely since having the children and leaving the city behind and settling into country life!!!

Like the idea of hair accessory!

I did used to like wearing hats in the old days! And always was relied upon to get one for any old wedding so maybe I will invest!

Oh yes Tipex I really do have the credit card to abuse! I've had NO sleep for 6 months and he works away .... need I say more???

Where do I find these classy sounding coats then? Shivering blue legs will not be a good look!!

I went to a vvv posh wedding a few years ago. Morning suits and cocktail dresses!!
I posted on here actually tooGrin
I wore a strapless dress with a net under, just under my knee and a lovely silky cardy. Didn't wear a hat.

How about \link{http://store.monsoon.co.uk/catalog/Welcome\Monsoon} for long jackets/coats? You need to go to women, then coats and jackets, then smart jackets - some lovely ones there.
