Tell me about night face creams - what do you swear by?

In particular, the classic, tried and tested, cheap, old school ones you swear by. Like Astral, or cocoa butter.

I'm 33 and just recently my skin has really started to change. Ive been using a REN moisturiser at night that was a miniature from a gift set, but it's run out an before I go and spend a fortune on a full size, Id love to know if I'm missing a trick.

Any suggestions welcome :)

I have just started using Clinique Youth Surge Hmm after trying a whole load of other things. Ten days in and my skin is fabulous, it has wound the clock back to pre-DC levels of smooth-and-glowingness - so nearly 5 years!

I will gloss over the price £42

Argan oil.

Just two drops, massaged in. My 11 lines have halved in depth. Am 37.

3 drops rosehip oil, under a v natural night cream (I use the House of Colour Naturals range one, but suspect Ren/Dr Hauschka ones are similar). As well as controlling adult acne, has made my (admittedly not deep) forehead lines look smoother.

What about Aldi Lacura? Anyone tried?

(vivi - was it you who was looking for very specific shoes for your wedding?)

ViviPru · 26/08/2012 11:44

Yes, it was. Wow good memory, MrsL. I gave up on blue and got these in the end. No beauties, but fit the criteria :)

Ah, right 'cause I saw these and could 1/2 remember the brief but I had you mixed up with another poster...

I can't exactly remember what you were after, but they are flat, mint, leather and peeptoe. Noe bow though (or wasn't there a bow?)

ViviPru · 26/08/2012 11:49

Nice of you to think of me! I didn't want flat though. 1-2" wedge heel.

Wink always good to be very picky.

MrsLettuce · 26/08/2012 11:54

Back to the OP - I cleanse with rosewater and use argan oil before bed, amazing results. Am 34.

Ive been using Napiers infant starflower cream... It did wonders for soothing my ds eczema, and of course my hands after rubbing it on him...then i tried it on my face. Its lovely! I used to wake up with that dry tight feeling, but soft and smooth now :-)

JemimaPuddle · 18/10/2012 15:39

I use Alpha h intensive night serum under my moisturiser. It has a lot of active ingredients - vitamin A, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and some peptides so only use 2 or 3 nights a week.

It's amazing.

It's expensive (£46) for a 50ml pump tube but one pump does face & neck so it will last ages.

Biggem · 18/10/2012 16:03

What is this Argan oil I keep hearing about? Can i use it on my combi oily skin?

Cheap as chips, smells lovely, i use it day and night, and it keeps my skin beautifully soft and supple
