Top tips for newbie false eyelash wearer please!

Am having a big party for my birthday and would love to wear a pair of false eyelashes as mine are utterly crap - short and stubby!

Before I splash out and buy some, does anyone have any top tips for wearing them / application etc? Any tips most gratefully received as I'm panicking that they will drop off half way through the evening!

I'm afraid I can't link as on my phone but if you google Lisa Eldridge, she has a video on her site which has really great instructions for both strip lashes and individual ones. I found it invaluable!

P.s top tip is buy the individual ones she recommends, i am completely cack handed but managed to put these on without incident!

I wear them most of the time but have them done at a salon. Top tip is to not rub them and not to have them too long. But I love them as they make me look awake.

I've just bought some called 'quicker than mascara' from sally's. They're pre-glued and reusable. They really are idiot-proof (me being the idiot rather than you!) Would recommend.
