Can anyone recommend a strong, chip-resistant nail polish?

If it's cheap that's a bonus, but wouldn't mind spending more if it'll last a good few days.

Thanks for any advice

I'd like to know too! Not Chanel anway, it's the worst even though the colours are gorgeous.

I find Revlon pretty good, and Essie too, but even being really careful, leving time between layers and using a top coat, 2 days is the longest I have had without chipping.

I like Revlon and Essie too, but both are best with a top coat.

Barry m and china glaze are strongest imo, but with all polishes you need a good top coat, Sally Hansen top costs are good but affordable

Krumbum · 25/08/2012 19:52

Verity. People always say Chanel are awful for chipping like you have but I don't find them bad at all. Wonder why Confused they last well on me.

Opi is the best imo

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/08/2012 19:58

Essie very good.

There's a new range by Jin Soon going to be in space nk from september which is meant to be like a gel manicure but not so will try that.

Agree chanel rubbish even with base coat, 2 coats and top coat. OK on toes but then any cheap crap lasts on toes.

I don't know krum maybe it's the pH of my nails or something! I use the sally hansen diamond topcoat too.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about a top coat at all. That might be a good investment.

I bought a couple of L'Oreal ones in Waitrose on a two-for-£7 deal. Only little bottles, but that suits me, esp for fashion or seasonal colours. It is truly brilliant and the colours I bought (deep jade green and almost 'rouge noir') are gorgeous. I work with horses and also do alot of housework (ahem, family...) and it hasn't chipped at all in 3 days. I love Chanel for the colours, but agree they don't really last at all. OPI are my next best after the L'Oreal.

Opi definately gets my vote, doesn't chip and one coat covers very well. Their base/top coat called Nail Envy is the best one I've ever used. I had problems with by nails splitting and two weeks of just adding a coat of this per day sorted all the problems out.
