Grey hair covering between highlights.

I get blonde highlights done every few months but I suddenly noticed an awful lot of grey hair right on top of my head towards tr front.

DH and I are seeing DHs friends tomorrow and I won't have time to get my hair done at the salon beforehand.

What can I do to cover the grey? Would those wash in wash out sachets do it? Or will they look odd with the highlights?

Argh please help!! I am 10 years older than DHs best friends wife and I really don't want to turn up with a grey barnet to boot.
Thank you

I use a hair" lipstick" which is dark brown, you literally wet tip, run along grey area and rub in, helps me between colours.
Not sure of other colours but saw it for sale in super drug .

I use a demi -permament - castings or boots organics which blends the grey in with a honey shade of blonde. Gives my hair a lovely shine. I am very grey underneath all the dye but nobody would ever know.

Just remembered my cousin swears by

No good at links sorry!

Did you find anything op? Grey hair is actually just white hair mixed with your own and not so porous as your own colour. The cuticle (look like scales) is tighter so colour can't get in easily. A wash in will sit on the top (possibly?) for a short while.

Yes, tween time is great!!! saved me £££ over the years. And I thought I was the only one sad enough to colour in their roots between hairdressers' visits....

Aaah. The tween time stick looks great. I am off to order one to try it.

Can I use casting or the boots stuff if I have highlights by the hairdresser?

Thank you all Smile

I always used casting with highlights, never had a problem, blended the greys in and no commitment as its a demi.

Castings is fine with highlights, it fades after a few washes so is fine for an emergency.

I use the root touch up think, think its by clarion. It takes about ten mins and is pretty good.

I use a sachet of Shaders once a week - seems to work.
