DS is nearly 2, he still wears what i want him to, and i know there will come a day when he will have to choose, but for now, i like him in bright colourful clothes. I don't want Ben 10, Spiderman, football clubs, or whatever else these big companies want to force upon us - and i have so much trouble finding plain, or patterned stuff anywhere. It seems if it doesnt have the lastest character on it it is skulls and crossbones - for heavens sake, he's 2! Where can i shop?

I'm not keen on all this character stuff either - ds is nearly 4 so I am getting sucked into some (but try to limit it to pants, pyjamas etc). The supermarkets do seem to have a reasonable range of plainer basics - I've bought sets of plain T-shirts/shorts for ds and dd in Tesco (ours seems to have quite a good range). I've also bought nice plain stuff for ds in M&S but it is best to shop without the children around! John Lewis also have some but it is pricier. JoJo Maman Bebe and Baby Gap also have some nice but expensive stuff. The problem really comes when they grow out of the 0-5 ranges...

I did get some nice stuff in M&S, but their non character stuff does seem to be in the minority. Gap too, can be good - but also seem to like their skull and crossbones!

Anywhere. DS does have some character stuff (currently sporting a Thomas t-shirt!) but I really don't find it hard to buy nice, bright colourful things without characters.
H&M is my favourite, but M&S are also good. He also has things from Tesco and Gap (sale!).

I don't feel that it's forced on me, if I don't like it, I don't buy it. DS likes the character stuff but he also likes his star fleece from H&M or his fleecy jogging bottoms from Gap - basically if it's made of fleece, DS will wear it!
