A line indigo denim skirt

BikeMedalsRunningMedals · 22/08/2012 13:20

I am looking for a denim skirt which is

  • A line
  • Indigo
  • Knee length

with no luck at all. I am clearly an old frump. Looking to replace a much loved Monsoon skirt, which I can imagine not having in my wardrobe, I wear/wore it so much.

This is almost right, but I have sent it back because it is actually quite narrow in real life. I want something a bit flarier.

This one any good? Debenhams

Jcee · 22/08/2012 17:57

Are these any good?

Hobbs

Hobbs again

White Stuff do one called Harbour. Can't do the linky thing though...soz....

DonaAna · 22/08/2012 19:31

A line skirts are currently not exactly trendy (after a decade or so of glory). Any thrift shop and eBay will have lots of them. I used to love them but ditching them made me look a lot less mumsy. But if they suit your shape and flatter you, do not worry - sooner or later they will be back.

BikeMedalsRunningMedals · 22/08/2012 19:51

I know they are not trendy, but neither am I! I have bought 2 from eBay - one far too big, one far too small, although both the same label size. I really need to try on and be able to return.

They were very popular a couple of years ago - didn't Stella McCartney do one that everyone copied with buttons down the front?

BikeMedalsRunningMedals · 22/08/2012 21:27

OK, here I am being super fussy -

Debenhams one - just horrid, frumpy. My 70 yo mum gets Maine stuff!
Hobbs 1 - don't like pockets
Hobbs 2 - too fussy
White Stuff - Can't find it on website.

Ok, yes the Debs one is a bit frumpy, but I didn't know your age and it met the brief!

any better? £££

I guess that one isn't indigo.

I give up Smile

Jcee · 22/08/2012 21:58

How about this one then?

Or this one but I think it might not be flarey enough

Chubfuddler · 22/08/2012 22:01

I've just put a white stuff one out for the charity shop. It was too long and too high waisted. Honestly don't do it, you'll look like your mum.

BikeRunSki · 22/08/2012 22:06

Am 41!

Rather like that Trespass one, especially the price. And have been looking at the White Stuff one. Well done JCee!

NigellasGuest · 22/08/2012 22:07

here's another

Chubfuddler · 22/08/2012 22:09

God that WS one is the one I binned. You're 41 not 61.

betterthannext · 22/08/2012 22:13

I bought a really nice French Connection one in charity shop recently. f
Flared, indigo, but with panels

Mumelie · 22/08/2012 22:14

Good old Boden Grin

QuickLookUsainBolt · 22/08/2012 22:17

I've just got the Hobbs no2.

It's much nicer on than it looks on line.

BikeRunSki · 22/08/2012 22:27

Nigella- I have actually tried that one on last w/e, but it is very short on me.
Mumelie - That's the one I linked to in my OP and said it's almost perfect but.... actually quite narrow.... and zip is very short which makes it very hard to get into. It's not just my big bum - the reviews say the same.
Usain - It's not bad the Hobbs one, but too "smart" for my pre-schooler lifestyle.
Chub- You're right. I used to love White Stuff, but not anymore.

Mumelie · 22/08/2012 22:32

Sorry, that's me thinking before I read properly again! Just knew I'd seen one somewhere.

knitknack · 23/08/2012 08:44

I bought these sandals last week (sale! Result!) after reading this post - I think she's styled this skirt really nicely :)

BikeRunSki · 23/08/2012 18:10

That skirt is nice too - it's Monsoon. I can't wear button up skirts though - sticky out tummy always pushes the top ones open, especially now after two cs!

I have ordered the Trespass one JCee found.

annadin · 02/09/2012 16:25

...and how was the Trespass one?
