Good things to buy in France?

Looking for recommendations on good things to buy in France (apart from macarons) - have picked up some Caudalie stuff but anything else particularly good value or lovely but hard to find in the uk?

Caudalie, occitane and hei poa. Personally I miss Palmolive Tahiti coconut shower gel in the square bottle - cheap as chips from the supermarket but love it.

OP check the Lisa Eldrige website and on You Tube Fleur de Force as I think they may have done french pharmacie/beauty vids

Bioderma Crealine Cleanser. I have very sensitive skin and it's fab. You can buy it at pharmacies.

And for more things to get at French pharmacies: here as recommended by the Goopster.

Embryolisse moisturiser! 9 euros ish in French pharmacies, 20+ pounds here, and so good.

Oh so many things!

Pure Argan oil, organic - E13 for 100ml

Vita Citral - whole range is superb. Superb. Cheap as chips and in pharmacies.

Look out for savon Noir - it's all over the place this year - black soap.

Le Petit Marseillais range of hair conditioners are just brilliant and so, so condensed. The green one is perfect for long hair and lasts ages.

I just love French magazines fashion and interior even if I just look at the pictures so glamorous

suedpantsoffem · 22/08/2012 18:22

My DDs love French " sirop" and carambsrs. Also BN biscuits.
I like "flan" and buy packet mixes.

Sephora eyeshadow pro eyes compact for your eye colour is great

SalagadooLamagicaboo · 22/08/2012 22:48

If you have a baby, some mustela products (from parapharmacie) they smell lovely and are very good quality!

onyx72 · 22/08/2012 22:52

Le Petit Marsellsais shower gels smell gorgeous and cost buttons from any supermarket.

MrsSnow · 22/08/2012 23:12

Proper savon de marseille (lavender soap).

Second, the hair products by petit marseillais - so good.

I've just bought the dc's some trainers for their P.E bags from E.Leclerc. 4 euros a pair and they look really nice. Not quite s&b but nearly !

Zhaghzhagh · 23/08/2012 09:39

Donoryml sleeping tablets from the French chemist. They are very cheap - and they work for that odd night that you just cannot sleep. www.arizonapharmaceuticals.com/donormyl.html

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 23/08/2012 09:40

Petit Marseillaise! Love that stuff.

dreamingbohemian · 23/08/2012 09:53

La Roche Posay purifying micellar water is amazing for your pores. It's very gentle, paraben-free, but really gets rid of dirt and oil.

(I had terrible blackheads when we moved here (rosacea, can't exfoliate or get facials) but they totally disappeared after using this stuff for a few weeks, and haven't come back.)

Bioderma is very good and gentle and good value.

Ask for Efferalgan from behind the counter, it's combination paracetamol/Vit C in effervescent form. It is the single best remedy for sleepless nights/hangovers!
