This looks good on the model- will it look good in RL?

these

I mean with a short top, would this look be ok? I can't find a pair of soft, maternity skinny jeans and the ones I have tried I just want to rip off as they are so annoying!

I like skinny jeans and top combo and don't want to always have to wear a longer tunic or dress.

I'm being ridiculous aren't I? I would never dream of wearing leggings and a short top normally!

I would say it depends on what size yo are.

HecateHarshPants · 18/08/2012 15:08

If you're as slim as the model then yes, otherwise probably best not Grin that combo will show everything! A looser fitting, slightly longer top might be best.
And don't stripes across make you look wider? I read that somewhere.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/08/2012 15:15

I think skinny maternity jeans and that length top would be okay but leggings? Absolutely no.

HecateHarshPants · 18/08/2012 15:19

oh Blush you're pregnant. How did I miss that? the 'maternity jeans' should have given me a clue!

Trills · 18/08/2012 15:29

Sorry, it looks like she has forgotten her skirt.

Have you heard the bikini bottoms story?

NeverTalksToStrangers · 18/08/2012 15:38

Is it just that you can't bear the over-the-bump ness? I couldn't bear any 'waist' band over my bump at all and so wore one pair of jeans religiously. They were from peacocks (of all places) and by the time i had my baby they were in bits. These might be nice though. not expensive either

Pinkflipflop · 18/08/2012 15:45

Thanks for the replies! I think I will give the leggings a miss!

never I just can't bear the tightness and heaviness of the skinnies, don't know if it's the heat. I like the idea of leggings as an alternative, maybe I need maternity jeggings?

I'm only 16 weeks and haven't got a bump yet! Who knows how fussy I will be when the bump appears!!

Have you tried H&M? I had the softest black pair from H&M with a bump band. The in store range is bigger than on line but go when it isn't too hot so you can try them on. Have a look at Mamalicious too - their trousers are great. My LO is 4 weeks and I wore loads of "pyjama" style trousers when pg which are great now too. Zara and River Island good for them.

I've just bought some maternity jeggings from Dorothy Perkins but annoyingly they don't seem to have them any more. Jeggings might be the way forward, the DP ones are very soft and stretchy but with a seam like jeans and a thin under bump band. I haven't worn them yet as I am 16 weeks tomorrow and don't have a bump either! I wore vile 80s style light denim jeans during my last pregnancy and wanted to be a bit more stylish this time, here's hoping that works out! Wink

WAIT WAIT WAIT HOLD IT!!!!

I stupidly didn't check the 'sale' maternity section - here are the ones I've got from Dorothy Perkins
