Can anyone help me accessorise this dress?

I've bought this today for DS christening in a few weeks dress. It looks really nice, but I think I might need something to go over it, and I have no idea what jewellry (esp neclace) to wear.

I have a choice of black, cream or beige court shoes to wear (don't really want to have to buy new shoes).

Thoughts? :)

Shamelessly bumping, I'm still struggling although I think I'm erring on the side of the beige/nude shoes I have....

Don't wear a necklace. If you want jewellery go for a bangle or bracelet, the high neckline and back detail with a necklace would be too busy.

You can't wear a cardi with it as it will be all lumpy over the bow, a pashmina might be OK though maybe in bright pink or lime green?

I am not loving the sound of court shoes with it - i'm imagining you mean something like this? I think something with a print might look better with the block colour of the dress leopard, colourblock or zebra?

I think, for a christening, you do need to cover the back of the dress, but you will need something really floaty due to the bow

Long waterfally cardigan?

How about this shawl as a cover up, your cream shoes and a clutch to match or tone with one of the colours in the shawl. Maybe this?

Ooh, I hadn't thought of a patterned shoe, that's a great idea. Just out of interest why not court shoes (yes they are a bit like the ones you linked to)? Maybe my reliance on shoes like that is why my outfits always look good but not spectacular.

Also love the idea of a patterned scarf as the cover up - I was struggling for ideas. Although then, yes the plainer cream shoes would look better.

Court shoes have a tendency to be a bit frumpy or officey to me and are too smart for the summery dress.

I have a similar dress, without the back bow, and I normally wear it with cream and silver - I have a cream and silver pashmina, simple silver bracelet and/or earrings, and peep toe cream shoes. I also have a cream fascinator to match, but it might be too much for a christening. I wouldn't normally wear it with a necklace, but a string of pearls might look ok if the neckline sits low enough on you.
