How can I get my hair blonde from red?

I have done a colour b4 and its turned my hair a blonde/ginger patchy colour. I put a semi perm dark ash blonde over which has evened out the colour and darkened it slightly so now its ginger with my blonde roots showing through.

I can just about live with this if I have to but i would like to get as close back to blonde as I can. Would be happy with a light strawberry blonde.

Do I colour b4 again and see what the results are then dye on top?

I had never dyed my hair so when I sit up with a boyfriend many years ago decided to dye my hair a mahogany red (yep on the early 90's!!) the colou rinsed out very quickly on my blonde hair do thd. I dyed it copper. I'm very strawberry blonde anyway so no-one really noticed . Ousted lots of vo5 hot oils with hair in clingfilm, a towel and a hair dryer and a tin of vosene to wash it out. Took about z week and was completely gone!!
