Hats on men - are they ever right?

I love the look of a good hat -a fedora, or a good quality Trilby or whatever - but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'd look a twat if I ever wore one.

What's the consensus? Is there an official line on this?

Depends on the hat. I like a flat cap (with a decent jaw line as Horrace says). Trilbys and fedoras are a bit Shoreditch "trying to be cool" for me but if you are a creative type and wear with appropriately cool clothing then you can probably get away with it.

I would avoid hats if you are balding, they just look like you are desperate to cover it.

It's such a pity about the Shoreditch look - I don't want to wear one to be ironic, I want to wear one because they're handsome pieces of head furniture.

My dp looks great in hats

My DH looks dreadful in hats.

My DS looks amazing, but then he takes after my lovely Jewish dad who could also carry a hat with style.

wtf is wrong with baseball hats

My dh looks good in his old school cycling caps. Nice sharp cheek bones and a good jaw line. Depennds on the face and the hat.
