WTF happened to Isabella Oliver?

My catalogue arrived today, it's now called Baukjen after the boss boak and is full of quasi-Eurotrash styling. Not keen. Waterfall jacket with contrasting hot pink lapels? No ta.

Yes there are some shockers, aren't there? At least they have kept the classic dresses...

piedaterre · 09/08/2012 22:25

Their maternity is disappointing now. Other than a few tops, all the dresses went back. basically all bodycon (which I wouldn't wear at my fighting weight let alone 20lb over it) and wrap dresses that show your boobs.

My 7mo DS has chewed up most of the catalogue now. It's all so over-accessorised. Their key items seem to be a dodgy red leather jacket and matching skirt and a cheap-looking Obi belt that features in every bloody shot.

I do fancy the basic ruched skirt though Hmm

Hmmm. I could see this coming. I spent an absolute fortune on IO maternity clothes and loved them. Then got the non maternity catalogue and couldn't believe how bad it was. Didn't one of the founders leave?

ComeonComeon · 09/08/2012 23:07

Yy mango I lived in IO maternity stuff, the quality of their jersey basics is great and I love the ruching. The last catalogue was lovely, this one has taken a massive nosedive. All the new stuff is just rubbish. £95 for a denim jacket straight out of the 1980s? I hope they regain their mojo before my next pregnancy.

Does anyone else find Isabella Oliver models' 'I'm-such-an-ingenue' pigeon-toed pose irritating? Please say it's not just me.

I can look no longer at that Cartner Morley woman in the Guardian magazine standing in that stupid pose. Or anyone else.

Luvlyjubblyclothes · 10/08/2012 09:07

Have never ordered but looked and thought the prices were way too high for synthetic jersey dresses.

FrancesFarmer · 10/08/2012 13:18

There seems to be less choice than in previous years.

The shiny red leather is hideous.

Quejica · 10/08/2012 13:26

Vanessa Knox left and now has her own pricey website!

Either Isabella or Oliver was Vanessa Knox's child so perhaps Baukjen is seeking some fame under her own nameGrin

ClaraDeLaNoche · 10/08/2012 16:39

Am disappointed as well. Styling in this catalogue is yuck. Strange fixation with a brown wrap belt in almost all of the shots. Wrap dress with over the knee boots, diff coloured tights and a casual jersey top under. Oh my eyes. Plus is it just me or have their dresses a touch of the lady of the night? Used to have some lovely classic stuff.

I automatically discount any clothing line that models its wares on women with extra long legs that are the same narrow width all the way down. I know for a fact it will end in tears and wild fantasies of sucking out all the chump from my thighs with the hoover.
