Suppose you bleached your hair...

So say some fool allowed a teenager to practice their highlighting skills on you with bleach and a brown dye. Suppose the result was white/grey and brown stripes a good inch from the root.
What would the you do?
Can get to a large Boots tonight, I honestly can't go round like this until the weekend and am working tomorrow and Friday.

Please, any advice?

I would get a foam dye (they cover better than the standard ones) in a slightly darker shade than the darkest bits of your hair. Should cover it up (but the bleached bits may reappear after a few washes) as a temporary measure. Get to a decent hairdresser ASAP. Write 500 time 'I must not let teenagers near my head with chemicals'. Good luck!

I'm going to disagree with getting a colour slightly darker than the darkest bits - you could end up very dark, especially on the bleached parts.

I would get a semi-permanent in a very light brown or dark blonde - I might even get two, the one slightly darker than the other. Try the lighter one first and see how you get on. Your hair will be more porous, especially on the bleached bits - you don't (presumably) want to end up with very dark brown hair!

ooo I've done this

you need a dark blonde semi perm colour to tone it out until you see a hairdresser

Thank you, off to Boots for a dark blonde kit and a tattoo re persuasive teenagers.

Ok so maybe I'm to late with this reply but - you need a colour with reddish tones in, as I'm afraid if you put a flat brown colour over bleached blonde hair it will go green.....maybe you've fallen lucky & it's turned out ok!?

lentilweavinghippy · 08/08/2012 22:41

Green??! I stand corrected, don't ever let me near your hair either!

budhasbelly · 08/08/2012 22:57

Fuck, right, well at least I saw your post HaveAGoodDay before I put it on. Can you suggest an actual product to buy?

Nice Easy Light Warm Brown?

You need something with red in it.
