This may well be old news but Bobbi Brown now makes her bomb-proof eyeliner gel (formerly only came in a pot, needed a brush and dried out really quickly??) in a pencil format. Oh.My.Word. Wondrous stuff. Fab colours. Doesnt budge. Its love. The Smoke is a rich warm grey and super flattering

ooh must try that!
i have a few dried out pots of the gel stuff

Gillybobs · 07/08/2012 20:13

Exactly, I'm fed up with the pots drying out and found the brush a faff tbh. these pencils are genius in comparison, same gel texture but zero faff

Oooh does it really stay on as well as gel eyeliner in a pot? I'm rubbish at applying eyeliner with a brush, love pencils but it just doesn't last. Will put that on my wish list for when I have some more cash. :)

Aquelven · 07/08/2012 20:30

Do you not lose a lot when you sharpen it?

valiumredhead · 07/08/2012 20:35

Yes you do lose loads and so it works out very expensive as you need to sharpen a lot.

JudithOfThePiece · 07/08/2012 21:44

How much? I do love the pots, but they really are a PITA o apply quickly in the mornings!

Gillybobs · 07/08/2012 21:57

It's 17.50
Tbh I spend a fortune on eye pencils and never use them up as they are all rubbish, I don't mind if this doesn't last too long, still works out better value than spending a fortune on cheaper pencils that don't work and I don't use.

ggirl I love those pencils you reccy'd. If I put a decent primer on they stay for ages

JudithOfThePiece · 07/08/2012 22:03

That's not totally horrendous if it's really good stuff. I am going near a Bobbi Brown counter on Friday - I am very tempted!

LaurieFairyCake · 07/08/2012 22:07

One of my pots is ok but the other has dried really quickly which is massively pissing me off - is there anything I can add to it to make it less dry???

It flakes off on to my cheeks it's so dry.

Gillybobs · 08/08/2012 11:20

The obvious thing might be to add oil of some kind but the fact its going near your eyes would make me cautious.

I bought one of these pencils the other day - it was alright but that's as far as I'm prepared to go, it's no better than the Avon Supershock gel pencils, which are loads cheaper.

Laurie, you could always try sticking some mixing medium in, Mac make one or alternatively, I've found a site which tells you how to make your own nessasarymakeup.blogspot.co.uk/2007/09/make-your-own-mixing-medium-for.html?m=1

JudithOfThePiece · 08/08/2012 15:40

Laurie - I'm sure I read on here that if you add a smidge of glycerin to the pot you can revive it. Haven't tried it myself, though. Perhaps worth a google?

ggirl · 08/08/2012 17:13

cybb-yes they're good..i still get transfer with them...will use primer though...specially as i've just bought ridiculously expensive byterry eye primer

LaurieFairyCake · 08/08/2012 21:20

Thanks all of you, I'm going to pop to the chemist and get some glycerin Smile

I hate losing expensive cosmetics when they dry out.
