Me and Em...advice on a dress please

Following on from another post I have my beady eye on a dress in the sale from Me and Em (thanks S&B!). Do you think this Martini dress www.meandem.com/sale/summer-sale/martini-dress/products_id/1188/cPath/522_525_660 would suit a petite (5'3) size 8 or do you think it might swamp me? Thank you!

As a size 6-8, 5ft 2'er....I think it would swamp you. The model is a good height and it's pretty long on her. It does say it is easy to adjust - are you handy with a needle and thread?

I'm returning this dress, I think it will swamp you to be honest. I'm 5ft9 length was great but it's quite billowy even with the belt. I'm a 12 and I ordered the M if that helps? I also loved the tulip shaped dress but not the sale price! Lovely quality jersey though so its a shame it was too big. HTH

Bummer, thought that might be the case. I am no good at sewing sadly so will leave it as it sounds as though it will still be billowy even if I get it taken up. Thank you!
