I wandered around the M & S at Moorgate at lunchtime - I was absolutely amazed at what's on offer in there. Pattern, pattern pattern everwhere - the entire ground floor was an assault on the eyes - clashing florals & swirls everwhere. Upstairs there were some very odd looking fake fur coats last seen on Boycie's wife in Only Fools, leopard print leggings and 100s of those acrylic wrap shawl thingies that I think might have been 'in' for about a month in the 80s. I actually thought it was a joke. M & S needs a total re-think fast.

Not Per Una but High Vis Swimsuit anyone?.

Its even more hideous in real life - I saw it (clearly it can't be missed - I saw it from the food hall at the other side of the store) and thought I must post that on the Mumsnet - take the piss out of M+S thread.

That swimsuit is vile. It looks shit on the model, I shudder at the thought of any normal sized M&S shopper in it. It's hardly a forgiving style!

Good grief! WHAT is their problem ffs? Surely they are getting feedback and the sales figures should be sending them some sort of message. But season after season they keep coming out with this sort of rubbish. Young people wouldn't be seen dead in it. Older people wouldn't be seen dead in it. Even dead people wouldn't be seen dead in it.

IIRC they had links to our "appreciation" threads sent. Problem is that even if they are ready for a rethink, the current collection would have been in the making for some time and it woyld have been too late to pull. There may be hope for next year maybe, depending on their designer (sack the lot if all they do is trot out the same s**t season after season) and supplier arrangements. Otherwise I totally agree, a lot of the stuff is vile.
