Imminent holiday..... Need a good waterproof mascara

Thats it really. I usually just buy a cheap one but to be honest it makes my lashes stiff as a board and is difficult to remove.

Is it worth splashing out (pardon the pun) on a waterproof from say, Lancôme (best mascaras in my book.....but I can't really afford ATM) or is there not much difference?

Sali Hughes had a column on that this week.
Good timing!

Now, I must say that I always use the ones that come with the GWP.
I don't think I ever knowingly bought a mascara. Blush

The most effective waterproof mascara I've found is Smashbox but I don't know if it's readily available in the UK - check it out on eBay.

But if you're going to be and out of the pool/sea why not dye your lashes using a kit from Boots/Superdrug et al and only use mascara in the evening?

Eliza22 · 05/08/2012 22:26

Izzy....cause I look (and more importantly feel) "bald" without it!

Have you thought about dying them?

Sorry didn't see the last post Grin

Waterproof Macara really doesn't make your lashes as stiff as a board, I use It every day.

No 7 in the blue pacjakaging is really good for budget

Chanel waterproof excellent

But tbh I've just dyed mine myself so that's made a massive difference

And curl your eyelashes too

Isabubbamagic · 06/08/2012 07:08

Would you consider eyelash extensions? I have them done the day before I go on holiday and they are fab! Last about 4-6 weeks!

Eliza22 · 06/08/2012 10:18

Thanks, ladies. I will look at dyeing them.

I had extensions a couple of years ago, to go on holiday. They were great but, I can't do it, not this time so thought, a "good" (high end) mascara an alternative I could justify (to myself).

I won't be wearing a full face of makeup......but equally, I still want to look I'm in the land of the living!

Will check out the No7. Cybbo, what do you use to remove your daily waterproof mascara?

Just baby oil on a cotton wool pad

I would like to have the lash lift treatment which curls your lashes right up and it lasts, plus dyeing them at the same time

I think the Maybelline Illegal Length waterproof is very good. Used to have monthly lash extensions but can't afford them any more and this is the only mascara I've tried since that I think makes my lases good nice.
