Lush emotional brilliance

I had a play with the makeup in the shop today. Bought the passionate lipstick which I would usually never wear. Have to say I adore it, and the colour has lasted through a meal out, 2 cups of tea, drinks... And being wiped with a tissue! The shine has gone but colour still there and doesn't feel heavy at all

Also bought the feel younger highlighter, and happiness cream eyeshadow. Also urban decay naked foundation so will post on those tomorrow when I've used them
Oh the words I drew out from the colour wheel at lush were glamorous, power and healthy!

I was so excited when I found out about emotional brilliance, but then I checked the ingredients and found that they contain parabens Sad

In fact, I never really checked the ingredients for Lush stuff, but I've gone off them since seeing that most of their products contain SLS and/or parabens. For a company that markets themselves as making 'natural' products, I find it odd that they would put these harmful chemicals in their products. Confused

Saying that, the emotional brilliance range does look gorgeous, but I'm afraid I'll have to stick to the makeup from my local health food shop. It's not great, but I know that it's paraben free.

If you email lush regarding the sls/parabans. They will respond.
Basically they do want to remove them and are working towards it, there are a few new products that are sls/paraban free.
I am going to go into town next week and take a look st the emotional brilliance.

Lush really aren't what they say they are. I use a fantastic woman whose bath products are entirely natural and much nicer -and cheaper-- than Lush's. Her shampoo bars are AMAZING. No SLS no Parabens and they lather up like a normal shampoo.

Having been involved with Lush since the Cosmetic to Go days and it's subsequent rise I am disappointed in how prepared they are to mislead customers to save money Sad, I refuse to darken their doors.

Maybe emailing them is a good idea. They might take parabens and SLS out of more products. Tbh I love Lush perfumes, but I've started getting toiletries from the Dr Organics range at Holland & Barretts.

I want to try the emotional brilliance transulcent powder though. Smile

I meant to say translucent!

The powder felt very silky when I tried it on my hand. I actually had to remove the lipstick last night as it was still on Grin
Just thought people looking for something long lasting might be interested, but then I am not bothered about parabens

Ok happiness eye cream is lovely! Really nice as I have green eyes and it makes them stand out
I like the feeling younger light reflective tint, mixed some with the urban decay naked foundation and I look like I have perfect skin GrinGrinGrin

I've checked the packaging, and I can't see the Lush lip colours have parabens, although the eye creams do

I went in Lush for the first time last week and was under no illusions, it says handmade not natural, it says not tested on animals and it says they try to cut down on packaging as much as possible.

No where in the shop or on the website does it say they are all natural or organic so I don't know where you are getting that idea from, even if you walk into an Organic shop you will find many of the products labelled as organic contain permitted levels of chemicals, you really must read the backs of every pack and in the case of Lush have a damn good look on the website first and make a list.

I went there for the shampoo bar as I was curious and having used it I love it, so where else does Shampoo bars I can try when I'm done with this one?
