What to wear with this dress ?

I've bought this dress in red for a child-free wedding in September. I've lost the weight, I've ordered the support underwear and I'm hoping to get the sun tan a couple of weeks before the event. I've bought the patent black heels, I've got a patent black bag. I'm set.

Except that I get cold easily so I need a jacket/coat/cardigan or something. Any suggestions ?

Ooh that's nice... I wouldn't go for a cardi - think you'd need something a bit structured/clean lines so you don't mess with the lovely draping? Or a trusty Pashmina?

Oooh. A pashmina. Now that's an idea. See, this is what I need. People with ideas !

Something lovely in a sheeny black silk?

If you've got the figure to wear that dress it deserves a bit of a treat :-D

I'm not convinced I've really got the figure to wear the dress. But I'm about as close as I'm ever going to be to the figure for the dress and in 5 years time I'll be too old to wear the dress (in my opinion) !

I saw photos of me at a wedding with my first son and I looked dumpy, stressed and had an enormous hand bag full of puzzles, wipes, sippy cups, sun cream. It was a nice wedding but I looked dumpy. So this time, no kids invited, I've shifted the baby weight post second son, so I can wear a dress that doesn't have to hide snot and grubby fingerprints.

What kind of something lovely did you have in mind ? Bear in mind I'm very limited in my style sense so can't picture anything until I'm wearing it.

Ooooh I like that!

Second the pasmina

Oh, I meant treat yourself to a new Pashmina, except not an actual one but something in silk, which would be a bit stiffer and more standout, to hold its own with the shoes and bag?

Also check out the tweed and boucle jackets at Zara - found this bargainous one today - if it's a day wedding you could wear the jacket to the church with the dress and get rid of it later.
