What to wear for a weekend in Paris?

DH is taking me to Paris without the children - hurrah!

But what to wear in the stylish city of love.

We will be doing mucho sightseeing during the day and will go out for a posh dinner on the Saturday.

Give me your fantasy clothing list for the weekend. Then hopefully I can cobble together a stylish outfit or two.

Oh and we are going in 2 wks. So it will hopefully still be hot hot hot.

A smile..and maybe a rose between your teeth!! Seriously it has to be a dress for the posh dinner..something that makes you feel cheeky, glam, utterly fabulous and a bit reckless. Heels..definately heels..

Lovely! I took lots of pretty day dresses, and flat-ish but pretty sandals for walking. Dresses from JOY, Emily & Fin, Oliver Bonas. Was going for a Rachel Khoo but without the cooking skills look. Worked quite well day to evening. Have fun!!

We went in mid August last year, and hot it most definitely was! Boiling, in fact.

I love to walk everywhere in Paris, so comfortable shoes are essential.

I have no sartorial words of wisdom as I wore shorts by day and little shift dresses by night.

We are going in Sept; I hope it will still be warm then.

I love the dresses in JOY no one I now has ever heard of them. Their tea dresses with a pair of converse are a staple daytime look.

I need links!

Anything else? Anyone?

Loving these tips. I'm also going for a similar long weekend. Very excited! My plan is loose long dresses for daytime, probably with some bright wedges, and then slinky little black dress for the evening.

Marking my place as I'm off to Paris in a couple of weeks and need inspiration!

I agree, we need links! Grin

Where all the fashionistas?

Clearly the Olympics have stolen you all. Are you busy writing blogs on the state of the swimwear and those weird golden trackies at the opening ceremony.

Ok then for those of us who are going to Paris, this is what I was thinking of doing during the day.

Denim shorts think short shorts but not arse cheek short kind of just above mid thigh and a strappy t with a layered shirt and dangly necklace with either superga trainers or flip flops.

Is that ok? I worry that I am so entrenched in village life where that outfit would be high fashion that I have lost the way.

Then in the eve some nude high heels platformish with a tightish dress. I know thats boring.

Can anyone find me a nice sexy but not slutty dress to wear?
