Im not sure if an olive green cardi would be ok with a purple dress? Or even if these colours suit me. Im fair with red hair and green eyes.
(and fairly clueless ! )

Purple & Green go together and both compliment red hair. Think for future an emerald or jewel green would probably go with your skin tone better than olive green which generally tends to suit warmer tones or tanned skin.

I always think that green goes with pretty much everything, but I have based that solely on my own theory that you get flowers of all colours, but they always have green stems, yet they never clash. It works for me Grin

Thank you, a million thanks, a moment of internal panic and self doubt avoided.
I will look out for emerald green in future, how does one know about these secrets?

Agree with all the above - green and purple is a good combination and I would imagine suit your colouring.

Suffragette colours too Grin

My daughter has really bright red hair and green eyes so I'm going on the colours that I think suit her - she looks good in bright shades, so better in bright pink than pale, blues and greens suit her and she loves purple and yellow. White and cream not so good though and black looks dreadful - she is only 5 though.

Umma They're not secrets, they are more like puzzles. Puzzles about cool tomes or warm tones - yellow based or blue based. Green is a great example, as it has both. Faff mentioned jewel greens, which are cool toned with more blue, and olive, which is yellow and warmer. But also more muted. So, if your fair skin is cool toned, go for the jewel, if it is warm and yellow toned, then olive may be for you. Beamur also introduced the idea of contrast. Sounds as though you have high contrast in your look, so you would look great in two bright, high contrast colours.
