I wear with shinnies and skinnies

No but then I have size three feet so this is one of the few sartorial errors I do not commit.

It's not for me as I have size 8's.

I have skinny ankles and long feet and this is a no no - I think it depends on your proportions. My daughter of course can pull this look off and looks brilliant. (sulks in corner)

Where does one buy non clumpy feminine brogues?

I have a lovely non-clumpy, non-clown like pair of brogues from Dune. these ones but mine are the black version. Beautifully soft leather and look and feel more expensive than they are.

Well I have size 8 feet and have just started wearing brogues with skinnies. I was so wary for so long, but the brogues I chose are tan, very minimal and quite feminine in style. They look ace and quite girly. Lots of supermodels have size 9 feet cos they are so tall. I read in a very authoritative book about elegance that as long as a woman's feet look slim, then don't worry about their length iyswim?

I have size 9 narrow feet and have 2 pairs of very expensive brogues from Crispins, one black leather, the other a neutral nubuck.
I have never worn them
i think they'd be ok with quite wide trousers with turnups...sort of Katherine Hepburn.

What tops do you wear with them?
I wear my brogues with dresses all the time, but can't think what type tops to wear with skinnies and brogues

I've been wearing longish scoop neck tshirts or cowl neck tops from Isabella Oliver with them, but I think the only tops I'd actively avoid with them are shirts and polonecks. That'd be too masculine for me, although would look fab on some I'm sure.

Just wondered if anyone can tell me what socks do you wear with these brogues?? I have inherited the clarks hamble oak off my daughter as she doesnt like, we are both size 9. I want to wear with black or beige skinnies but wont socks look silly ? what to do ? !

I think with skinnies you would have to go sockless.

Disclaimer: I'm a guy who works for a company which sells brogues for women.

You really won't. The only thing that could happen is that, if you don't look after them well enough, the toe will rise as the shape degrades. But the worry about "ski-feet" is mostly unjustified - you can see a million pictures of Olivia Palermo or Elle MacPherson that'll prove just that.

You could try some skinny bootcuts or even some bf jeans in the meantime, or you could go two-tone with a darker shade framing the shoe, but the best thing is probably to forget about it.

I wear socks with my brogues and skinnies. You can't see them as my jeans come over the top.

As long as you don't wear a big red nose and have a twirly bow tie, you should be able to carry off the skinny/brogue look.

I think tiny feet look worse than big feet. I wouldn't wear those wedge trainers because they make my feet look like stumps. I have size 7 feet and I still ask myself do my feet look like stumps, long feet look good ladies, IMO small ones look odd.

I wear brogues and skinnies all the time - I'm size 7. I don't wear with socks - just those footsie things that you cant see over the shoe. I love them - have about five pairs. Go for it! You'll be wondering why you waited so long!

I wear slim straight-leg jeans with my brogues (also have Clarks Hamble Oak in tan) - they look better with darker jeans or chinos. I'm a 9-9.5. I wear black or dark grey socks or those knee-high sheer pull-ups.
I was coveting a pair of Accatino brogues but they only go up to 7.5
