Are GHDs still the best straighteners?

Mine packed up this week but have had them 10 years ..... So do I need to fork out for a new pair or has anyone managed to break the habit and find success elsewhere?!

IMO yes, GHDs are.

Don't listen to that Sali Hughes, who recommends Corioliss digital titanium straighteners, which I duly bought. They absolutely wrecked my hair in less than a week.

There was a recent thread on this poodle and as I remember the opinion was that GHDs rule. Mine are getting on for about 10 years and if they did pack up I'd def get another pair.

My hairdresser told me that the guy who started GHD sold the company a while back and then set up another one called Cloud Nine. The hair salon had switched all their GHDs to those ones and recommended them highly.

I too have a pair of aged GHDs although I stopped using them a yar ago and decided to embrace my natural curls!

Send your GHD's in a padded envelope to GHD and explain that they have packed in after 10 faithful years service and would they be able to fix them? I did this a few years back when mine sparked out. They replaced them free of charge. I'm not saying they will but you never know... they might. :o Nothing to lose by trying.

When I say packed up what I really mean is I ran over the wire with the Hoover.
Probably is time for a new pair though....

I sold my new set and carried on using the Nicky Clarke efforts that heat up to 230 degrees. They do just as good a job. They just ain't sexy.
