I have fallen in love with this dress for my wedding next year. What do you all think? Suitable for a church wedding? Also what shoes would suit? If it makes any difference I'm a size 12, 5'8", small waist, big bum!

If you're the one getting married, it's gorgeous! Love it.

EclecticShock · 24/07/2012 21:13

The shoes the model has on work. White/ ivory might be a bit princessy?

ByTheSea · 24/07/2012 21:15

Very pretty!

MrsBovary · 24/07/2012 21:26

It's a gorgeous dress.

If you click on the link that has the photos of real brides that will give you shoe ideas. Brighter shoes seem to go better than ivory shoes..

Lovely. Really lovely.
Go for sparkly shoes too, not bridal White

MadCatLadyInWaiting · 24/07/2012 22:17

Thanks everyone. It just seems so perfect for me and the style I'm aiming for with the whole wedding. Fun, slightly different without being too "wacky" and cheap! I had thought about having it just for the evening do and maybe a more traditional dress for the church, but you're definitely swaying me in the direction of wearing that beauty all day Grin

Now to practise ignoring DM when she starts with the whole, "but it's short!" nonsense.

Ooh, I would go for two dresses, wish I'd thought to do that!

iloveACK · 24/07/2012 22:21

Gorgeous Grin

thaliablogs · 24/07/2012 22:40

Ok I will dissent and say I don't think it's formal or special enough for a church wedding. It's lovely but really on the cheery/fun side rather than deeply special. You're only going to do this once after all. I'd do the two dress thing, brilliant idea!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/07/2012 12:16

It's absolutely gorgeous but I know too little about church weddings to know if it's okay or not. Are you norky, or will the high neckline be okay for you?

It would be amazing with red shoes and red and cream/white roses.

KandyBarr · 25/07/2012 13:44

The shape and style is very pretty, and ideal for church or elsewhere, I'd say. But I'd be concerned about the back zip, which in the picture does appear to gape - it doesn't lie flat, which suggests poor quality zips are used - it actually looks metal, where you might expect a discreet white zip at the very least.

If you look at the other dresses' back views, too, it seems to be the case with all their dresses. Could you try it on before you commit, perhaps?

MadCatLadyInWaiting · 25/07/2012 21:42

I'm not particularly norky, so the higher neckline isn't an issue.

The only way to try it on is to order it online, then return it if it's not suitable. They charge £15 postage, which isn't a huge amount but would be annoying if I really don't like it.

I don't have to make the decision for a while yet. Right now I'm quite keen on the two dress plan, but I'm yet to find a dress I like for the day thats cheap enough for me to afford both.

Nice to know that the general consensus is that it's pretty!

I think the dress is absolutely beautiful BUT one of the pictures of the 'real brides' shows it from behind at the altar and it looks a little weird. Might just be that bride though!!

Depending entirely on your budget I'd be tempted by two dresses, a church dress and a party dress - and a spectacular pair of shoes to go with this Kitty dress.

But it really is a beautiful dress.
